To deal with the pain of the wound suffered while helping Talia escape. I think he was mainlining morphine. The dude taking care of Wayne tells him the doctor was a morphine addict, so I assume he knew it's properties and applications. I was pretty drunk when I saw it, so take that with a grain of salt.

Tom Hardy was the perfect Bane, nobody else that I can think of would have fit the part better.

You dudes saying he needed to be bigger worry me :lol:

I understand staying true to the comic, I read them as a kid, but realistically nobody is naturally as big as Bane in the comics

Have you seen that guy act? Nolan (and the rest of the world) needs GOOD ACTORS

I really don't think it is crazy to expect Bane to be bigger, everyone had their doubts before the film went into production how they are going to show Bane and how the venom will play a part, I was one of those doubters and really didn't think it was close to impossible to pull off and I was right.

Good thing Nolans version of Bane was so great that it made those doubts go away, it is a step away from the comic book version but it worked, he was badass and Hardy simply made it his own.

I mean really, if you say you didn't doubt Hardy in pre-production, you are insane. Dude is the same height as JGL and shorter than Bale. Actually put JGL in some boots and he looks much taller than Hardy so you can see where people would have doubted the choice before they started filming.

Nolan actually admitted to Hardy that before choosing him for Bane that he has never seen Bronson or the Warrior so Nolan never really had the physique as the first requirement in his Bane.

Realistically, they could find a Bane look a like in real life or at least close to it. Rob Terry is a legit 6'6"-6'8" guy and has the physique to match Banes. Again don't get me wrong, Nolan made a great choice in Hardy as Bane and I really would not change anything at all but for the sakes of argument on physicality of Bane to real life, they could find someone close to him if they wanted to.

I don't but you can see where they are coming from. Comic book characters are unrealistically muscular and wrestling is the media we are most exposed on where we can see an even remotely resemblance to comic book physiques.

Again, some of you guys are taking the arguments the wrong way (not meaning to isolate you JayP ), I think most are just suggestions and just for the look of the character. Like I said if Nolan chose to use the traditional mask where you cannot see any facial expressions at all, then any of the more muscular wrestlers would work. I mean that wasn't even Hardy's voice Nolan used so if Bane was full luchador masked, the Rock could work well with the part. Nolan just has to direct how he moves and the rest will be taken care off with his physical presence.

dudes can not read. i said PHYSIQUE WISE, the rock would have been better. i used him as an example. :smh:
 
No offense taken, it just seems like a recurring theme in every comic book movie that people wanting wrestlers instead of real actors is just such a silly concept to me. I remember people wanting Cena as Captain America, Triple H as Thor, I'm sure there were people dreaming of Dolph Ziggler being the Joker. It's no question they have the physical look, but do they really think the caliber of the performance will be anywhere near that of a real actor who is capable of capturing the essence of the character they're portraying? Thank goodness people aren't in charge of casting.

I actually think The Rock is a decent actor. Dude is charismatic.

Well he is up for the part of Lobo.

I see him being a good Black Adam to be honest but I just don't know if he can be dark enough to play him, the Rock just seems too charming for his own good at time. Even in Fast Five you just want to see him as the good guy, he has the same effect as Will Smith in some way, you just can't see them being evil.
 
When I went and saw it again I noticed what y'all were talking about during talia's death scene.
It was hilarious :lol:
 
Maybe I missed something but why were the prisoners willing to help Bruce escape while Talia had Bane to protect her?
 
Finally saw it today. Most def a great flick.  Everything tied up in the end.  I really wanted to hate these new batman's because I such a die hard micheal keaton batman fan, but nolan keeps pushing the bar and makes this batman better and better.  Loved seeing "the wire" folks getting some work in the film as well.

Did Bane and the fellas stink? Did they shower or wear deodorant?

The real question is, that pit really didnt seem like hell on earth like described. Bruce was just chilling there, working out and whatnot. No one really bothered him or anything.

Talia was a female. They were waiting for her to hit puberty. They already did horrific stuff to her mother :x.
