Not saying it's better, but

HoB is an album quality mixtape

While Kissland is a full blown debut/concept album

Kiss land was like him saying man I gotta keep my OG fans happy, I'm gonna play it safe and give them trilogy part 2 in one album, I can't lose these fans

BBTM is like okay I hope the OG fans understand and I also am not afraid to have a new following even if they don't know about the old stuff

but the question now is.......will we ever get that dark sound back ? will we get another kissland ?

I have to disagree. Kiss land was him perfecting that sound and that style. Like someone else said, it sounded like a score to a movie. He puts you into a place with track 1 and you never leave that headspace throughout the entire album. It's an album that you have to be in a certain mood to hear and maybe that's why it didn't do as well commercially. I've never cared about what a critic said. Kiss land is a masterpiece.

When Kiss Land first dropped I think it took a little bit of time for folks to realize exactly what they were listening to. I don't think it was Trilogy-ish at all, it is very different

I don't see how it was a continuation of what he already did, I'd like to hear an explanation of that
It's a continuation in which he's still utilizing that dark sound that everyone loved him for from the trilogy. Yeah it doesn't sound the same but it's still the same formula. And imo, the Trilogy had a more varied sound than KL did. When listening to KL, the tracks pretty much flow together, aside from Wanderlust. Which isn't a problem. As far as songwriting goes, I guess. Cant disagree with that. I feel as if he prioritized the writing over just making good songs overall tho. Because for me, there isn't that song that just bangs like The Hills, or various trilogy songs you can go to. When listening to KL, I listen to it from start to finish. Occasionally skipping Wanderlust

That speaks to the overall quality of Kissland though.

He made a complete album

How is that not growth?

Rather than throw some singles together with a banger like BBTM

Don't see how it's thrown together. Album flows well content wise.

Kissland flows perfectly from start to finish minus Wanderlust... So maybe it's not perfect

But damn near close to it

This is NT. You know good and well dudes don't ever agree to disagree. It's only a matter of time before someone's mom is insulted in here.
