I haven't heard all of his tracks but he has some songs that I love. I just found out about kiss land yesterday, love in the sky is :wow: :pimp: "you've been here before, remember these sheets?" :smh: ... son is literally the Canadian version of the dream imo,just with a better voice.

Seems like he should be way more popular than he is.

Dont worry fam, weeknd is a superstar basically. He just isn't mainstream which is wonderful.
 
So ill be the first one to say it since this is my dude and I've been rocking with him since the beginning.

This is trash. The singing is horrible, there's nothing clever about most of his drug references. It's not his strong pimp hand were used to.

This coming from the guy who wanted to see him see succeed more then probably anyone

pffft. he killed it. it aint as good as the trust issues remix, but hella better than what kanye put out.

dude srsly dont know what losin like right now tho. even if you consider this bad, its better than anything out right now in his genre.

Still processing. Anytime you remix a Beyonce song it's just sort of weird, like when Drake remixed that Destiny's Child song.

I don't think it's trash by any means though, that's a little extreme IMO

All I know is, the fact that he released a new track saved last night. NBA was trash. UFC was dull. Hopefully this grows on me.

Wow...son said trash though.

I've only heard Beyonce's Drunk in Love joint like 2-3 times TOPS...so maybe my view is skewed but all I hear is Weeknd skating on another track.

Sidenote...last post I had in this thread before today was Nov 2012. That's absurd.

Songs like enemy, trust issues, drugs in my body, all his guest features "skate" all over this.

This just ain't his lane in my opinion. I like when he flips alternative songs, laces it with some mdma and a pimp named slick back esque lyrics.

I know there's gotta be a balance between mainstream and underground but I thought drake would touch something like this before he would.

With that said, I'm glad he's working on music and hope to hear some quality stuff soon.
