I don't like the fact that I'm hearing artists these day who are trying to emulate Weeknd's style, feel like they need to chill. That's how I feel about that dude ^ there at least with that "Zodiac" track. I feel like the vibe is exclusive to Weeknd and should be kept that way for now. And I don't really hear the similarities between Weeknd and Dream so I'm not even going to speak on that.

I don't get people who think this way. You like the Weeknd's vibe/style - why wouldn't you want more music inspired by that vibe/style? If it's bad, you don't have to listen to it. If it's good, you have more music like the Weeknd. I don't understand this mentality at all.

a lot of it's not good...that's all

Got tix to see him in phoenix on oct. 10th. Can't wait. This is the one time I'm glad I'm in AZ b/c the tickets didn't (probably wont) sell out :smh:

I'm a fan of this dude's music, but has he dropped anything after he released Echoes of Silence?

I've enever came in this thread and I'm not about to go back and read all them pages :x

tickets were bought for son, as soon as they went on sale for Houston :smokin

really thought they'd sell out quick

but i have a few questions for any houston heads that have been to Bayou Music Center
how strict are they with smoking? never been to this venue
do they pad you down? or how easy is it to sneak in bud

i know at warehouse live its mad easy, and they rarely say anything. as long as you arent obvious about it..

thanks :D

why isn't he mainstream? why does he have so many fans but I never see him anywhere? does he stay out the spot light on purpose?

Just had a pretty much sold out nationwide tour. The idea of 'mainstream' is changing everyday. Before you couldn't sell out a show without a video on MTV. Now we got folks (not just weeknd) doing nation tours with no album or radio play outside their city

Anyone have any idea where/when the 3rd NYC show is? He said last week there are 3 nyc shows, but I can only find info on the two that went on sale a while back.
The Weeknd Signs to Universal Republic – Trilogy Coming Soon
Posted by XO in News

The joint venture between Republic Records and the Canada-based XO sees the Weeknd’s vision preserved and magnified on a much larger scale. The XO initiative has grown from a small collective — with roots based in the metropolitan streets of Toronto — to a marquee business partner, and it will only evolve further within this structure

It has been speculated for some time now who the R&B sensation will sign with. Today we get word The Weeknd is partnering with Universal Republic to release a mixed and mastered version of his mixtapes.

The Weeknd has been mentioning for awhile now that he'll be re-releasing his mixtape series as a Trilogy via Twitter, and now the news comes that he's teaming up with Universal Republic to make it happen.

Trilogy is releasing on November 13th and will include his three previously released efforts, House of Balloons, Thursday & Echoes Of Silence, each mixed and mastered for the first time ever. Abel Tesfaye also promises some bonus cuts of unreleased music on both the digital and physical copies of Trilogy, as well as new music videos and a Fall tour.

Gearing up for the release of Trilogy, The Weeknd will be re-releasing the single "Wicked Games" to iTunes.

fall tour, music videos, trilogy release with three bonus tracks. xo.
Copped. Don't 'eem have to think about it.

It's almost criminal he gave out those 3 tapes for free.

so we talkin' 3 releases? or a single release with all 3 mixtapes mastered? doesn't matter either way, just wondering

There better be physical copies

Good question.

Since it's being marketed as a Trilogy...I think we'll see it in some type of bundle pack like they do with movies and ****. At least I hope it's that way.

Got the press release yesterday. It's a release that has 27 songs on it - both physical and digital. I would assume that it would be some quality packaging considering that whole XO crew is about a creative aesthetic
