Hey I want to hear some of your opinions about re-sellers, I don't knock anyones hustle but as a guy that just likes to buy sneakers to own them, at times it gets frustrating. So anyone out there wanna share their opinion please do.
P.S

This survey stems from my continued hunt for the Lebron x-mas days and how I found my All Star games..

Personally, I'm not mad if somebody cops a pair to flip and get a little change to offset the price of their own.  It's when you have individuals buying up every pair in the store or getting FSRs at the outlet and going straight to ebay or CL that really mess things up.  I wear a 14 so there are times where I can't use employee discount because we just didn't get my size.  Only place I can usually find my pair will be on ebay where resellers have lost their damn minds.  For instance, Royal Foams would be about $150 after discount in store, but resellers putting up $10 + $289 shipping on the bay.  At the same time though, I wouldn't be able to cop at all if it wasn't for someone reselling my size in the first place half the time.  So it's a little bit of both.  Kinda like I hate the police with a passion, but I realize that I do need and rely on them at the same time.

Perfectly said.

We have a footlocker here, it gets a 12-18 pair size run and only 1-2 13s.... If I don't get it there, I have another store but they don't get limiteds or any foams or anything just jordan retros etc.

If i don't get it at either of those 2 stores, its a 45m to a hour drive to the next stores... And then you run into the same 1-2 13s there too.

It's either online NDC, eastbay etc or succumb to the reseller's grip.

I don't mind paying 20-40 over if I can't get them, but this buying up all the sizes, setting the bar 100-300 over, is getting way out of hand. I don't mind missing out on a release but there's guys who it might be their favorite shoe, they got that crappy job, they want them so badly but have to devote all their money to obtain something that would cost them a shift or 2. I'm not one of those guys but we all lose with resellers unless you are selling, but those guys hit that much harder.

And yes I'm aware I'm selling a shoe for over retail in my signature, but notice it's not a FSR lol

It's playing the market.. we all hate to pay more.. but when prices are set higher for something you want, why not try to make money on something you happened to get extra of.. in order to get what you want.

At least the shoe your selling is in your size... I just hate how I go to SC or the buying forum here and see pictures of 5 different sizes..it just sucks that people go out and buy size runs of shoes..
Again not knocking anyones hustle

I'll admit I've sold a few pairs myself to help myself get by at points in my life but never to the extend of picking up FSR's and flipping them on eBay or CL. I buy multiple pairs for the reason of longevity. If I know there's a particular pair that I'll wear constantly I like to have another pair on hand in case I straight beat my !!$% up. What irks me is when I hear people talk about buying just to flip. Takes the enjoyment out of collecting knowing you have that dude that makes it costly for you to pick up something you might have missed.

Not knocking your hustle...as long as there are buyers there will be sellers... I just asked for peoples opinions

people can do whatever they want with their money, it's THEIR money. But the stores should have some sort of limit on how many pairs a person can buy. If you think the shoe game is only one suffering. Has anyone tried getting an iPad 2 lately!???? Trying to get one is ridiculous!

I agree with both statements made..

That's pretty much the stand still. Stores won't do a limit because they have say 25 to sell. If they sell at 25 to one guy, it takes the work of selling them out. Easy flip... Say they deny that guy and no one else wants them, now they are stuck with dead stock, no pun intended.

Also how quickly a store sells out and the percentage of sell through determine if that store gets the next limited release. But with most shoes one would buy multiple pairs to flip, they would sell out in a decent amount of time..

Made the price based off 2 completed size 13s that were there for 385 and 390. Now that its past 30 days they don't show anymore. I really don't care if they sell honestly, if someone wants them bad enough they'll buy them. They still are on the cheapest size 13 deadstock copper on ebay so to each his own my man.

Not to mention a size 13 used pair with a clear but cloudy sole just sold for 240 something + shipping. It's not too far off if you don't want foams molded to someone elses foot.  Size 13 isn't no size 8 cheap pair size. You should know by now, it is the most expensive size when it comes to buying online... why do you think those reseller sites have a different price for 12-13??? So you must be on crack cocaine for not doing your research because I do mine before I list.

I'm not hating on how what they do with their money. Especially if they camp out for certain limited
sneaks. But c'mon man, they charge 100-200 above retail. SMFH. Stores should have a limit on certain
shoes (jordans, brons, kobes)... But it is how it is. The only way to beat them is to wake up earlIER than they do...

Blame Nike for purposely supplying less than the demand they created. Blame retailers that don't limit one per person or make you buy your size. Blame those who take advantage of a shortage for profit.

But don't forget . . . blame those who pay over retail and create a profit motive for resellers to begin with. If everyone made sure to only buy from authorized retailers, while you might miss out on a few releases, before long, there'd be no such thing as resellers.

You can blame a lot of people for this problem, but make sure to blame yourself as well.

If you think about it, they rerelease shoes on a regular basis now so it's not like you lose out you just got to wait until they pimp em out again if you want them for retail. I wear size 13-14 so it's not always too hard to get what I want (I.E. Js, Foams, etc) so I don't have too much complain about.
