Yup, this one made a big impact after reading it almost 7 years ago. Short read and definitely gives you something to think about.

Rich Dad Poor Dad.
Easy read, and i looked at money, business, oppurtunity different after that.

Think and Grow Rich-law of attraction 1.0
The Power of Now-teaches you how to live in the present, basically active meditation
I Will Teach You to Be Rich-IMO the best personal finance book out. Ramit Sethi doesn't just focus on the logical aspects but moreso on the psychological ones. Check out his blog by the same name.
George Orwell-never take what the government says at face value
Mastery-growth at any skill is more like a staircase. theres times where you will experience standstills before you actually improve.
The Autobiography of Malcolm X-gave me much more insight on Malcolm X compared to the footnotes in history books were used to seeing

I've never read a self-help/motivational book. I guess I'll pick one out of this thread and see what the fuss is about. It's a little odd to me. You need someone to tell you how to not conform... isn't that conforming to his views of non-conformity?

DEFINITELY RECOMMEND "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch. He was the professor that was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and was on Oprah. You can watch list actual last lecture for his school on youtube but this book is amazing. Not super lengthly but allowed me to see life differently especially after my mom passed away from Pancreatic cancer. I think you will not regret reading this book....

The Last Days of Socrates by Plato
It's Not How Good You Are, Its How Good You Want to Be: The World's Best Selling Book

I enjoyed part 2 a little more than part 1, but books are full of essays from the famous and wealthy to you average citizen explaining their core beliefs and values.

"The Christian Atheist" is also a must read. It describes how we ( as Christians ) know that there is a God, but live as if he doesn't exist.

Product Description:

'The more I looked, the more I found Christian Atheists everywhere.' Former Christian Atheist Craig Groeschel knows his subject all too well. After over a decade of successful ministry, he had to make a painful self admission: although he believed in God, he was leading his church like God didn't exist. To Christians and non-Christians alike, to the churched and the unchurched, the journey leading up to Groeschel's admission and the journey that follows---from his family and his upbringing to the lackluster and even diametrically opposed expressions of faith he encountered---will look and sound like the story of their own lives. Now the founding and senior pastor of the multicampus, pace-setting LifeChurch.tv, Groeschel's personal journey toward a more authentic God-honoring life is more relevant than ever. Christians and Christian Atheists everywhere will be nodding their heads as they are challenged to take their own honest moment and ask the question: am I putting my whole faith in God but still living as if everything was up to me?
