Post Your Unpopular Music Opinions

The NWA is just as big as the Beatles
thats not even an opinion, that's just wrong

the beatles best album is more popular than everything every member NWA has ever done

NWA is better than the beatles is an opinion

NWA is bigger than a band that has sold over 2 billion, with a B, albums is just flat out wrong

I don't give a damn about the "Beatles" and can't tell you the name of one of their songs, I'm sure I'd be familiar with a song or two if I heard it today but I don't give a sh*t about them... it's 2013, they're not as popular as you think.

AntiDope's Rap Genre overall comment >>>
From Top To Bottom, We Got It All.

Basically. I know its not an opinion that will be shared by many, the last thing I would do is force it on anyone.

Never been a fan of Jay-Z. I like a song here and there, but I cant tolerate him over a whole album.

Childish Gambino is trash. Cant stand his voice and flows

Big KRIT >>>>>>> everybody in the industry (including Kendrick, Pusha)

this dude really thinks that NWA are more popular than the beatles

we're talking about the best selling band of all time here, 95% of what i listen to is rap and there are lots of artists that i would listen to over the beatles but to say that they are not more popular than any rapper is just straight up ignorant. im talking about the opinions of everyone, there is no one on earth that doesnt know who the beatles are

I never got into the sales/who's more popular argument, I'm not choosing sides as we all know they're the best selling group of all time.

I'm simply stating I personally don't give a sh*t about them and the only people I ever hear reference them in today's age are old heads reminiscing on "when I first heard this..."

No other music genres besides rap are good overall. They have their bright spots here and there, but they're few and in-between.
I get it, it's your opinion.  And this thread basically calls for you to express opinions that are either baffling or borderline infuriating to the general person reading.  I get that.

But this **** here?

I mean, think of hip hop, both what it is now and what its origins are.  The music itself, the samples, the beats, the written and spoken expression.  Many of rap/hip hop's core elements were influenced and in many ways shaped by other genres.  To say broadly that no other genres besides rap are good overall?  I don't know, man, I just feel kinda sorry for you.

Charles Hamilton is the Greatest rapper of all time

his old and his new music are great

in 95% of his 2013 projects he is freestyling and is still better than any artist right now

he da man :nthat:

If you were to add up the album sales of all of the members of NWA, it's probably not a huge stretch to compare their legacy to that of the Beatles.

Remember, NWA didn't just sell records.  They changed the landscape of rap music and had a huge effect on how people dressed for a long time.

But...

To date, The Beatles have sold

2 BILLION

303 MILLION

500 THOUSAND albums

Are you sure this is the angle you want to take on this?

As far as legacy and influence, The Beatles are considered to have forever revolutionized pop music and have sustained for more than half a century.

eminem is BY FAR the best selling rapper ever, AND he outsold any other music artist from 2000-2009

and he has sold around 80 mil

im not sure if every hiphop album sold in the history of hiphop would be higher than the beatles total sales

Oh, wait, you're serious?

Too many people on this forum really need to expand their musical and cultural horizons.

Honestly think lil b will have one of the most historic catalogs in music when it's all said and done.

This. I guess some people will never know
He is also an great role model because of how positive he is and most people wont realize this as well

I didn't say they were the same, just that it wouldn't be a huge stretch to compare.  It's too early to totally compare the two but NWA's legacy, even beyond record sales, is a lot bigger than people think.  Without NWA, Dre doesn't branch off and create Death Row.  No Snoop Dogg.  Eminem never blows, Kendrick Lamar doesn't get Dr Dre's blessing.  Ice Cube doesn't strike out a solo career.  That's not even counting their cultural implications - what other group got themselves on an FBI watchlist and turned a down and out NFL franchise (Raiders) into a fashion symbol?

Again, not the same but it's not a huge stretch to compare the two.

NWA's influences are pretty much exclusive to rap and the culture that has streamed from it. the beatles literally changed the music industry as a whole, one of the most popular rappers of all time, jay z named his black album after a beatles album. they sell more records now than they did when they were together, who the hell still buys nwa albums? no one here is denying what NWA has done for rap but comparing them to the beatles is like comparing an ice cube to an ice berg, yes the difference is THAT big

Rappers doing very well at staying in their lane >>>>> rappers failing at being "diverse"

Lil B sucks

this post is whats dumb

isnt it HIS opinion tho?

I agree with him personally

it doesnt mean that the billions of people who listen to whatever are wrong and I'm right it means i dont like the ****

y'all dudes don't know how to use words correctly or something?

"no other genre of music is good" is not the same as "i don't like any other genre of music"

YOU'RE dumb if you think people would take the both statements the same way.

if he said the latter not only would i not have responded, i don't think anyone else would think twice about it.

Black Album was a Metallica album. White Album was Beatles.
