Mine:

Big Sean is the most unique artist in the game rt now; son's flow is

and he doesnt get enough credit for it. Top 3 flows in the game right now and his delivery is unique.
I found those statements back to back HIGHLY amusing

- Immortal Technique and Jedi Mind Tricks are vastly underrated.

- BIG and pac are disgustingly overrated. I think people put them in their top 10 just to avoid the backlash.

like i told dude a few posts back i can't speak on you not liking Pac and in your case BIG too, but there are PLENTY of people who love them and put them #1 on their list because they love them. do y'all forget at one point they WEREN'T dead and people still rocked w/ them HARD?

I think that anyone touting the entertainment value of Immortal Technique as anything more than white noise should have their ball bag slammed repeatedly in the door of a 1986 Mercury Capri.

I agreed with most of you post but, this one stood out to me because I knew I wasn't the only one thinking this. Regardless dude is solid & will never receive a dime from me.
What do you mean by "over-raps"

big kendrick fan right here , not really offended because you're entitled to your opinion just curious what you mean ?

as far as unpopular opinions goes...

I don't really like Wu-tang as a group, I like their solo albums much better (Liquid Swords, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Tical etc.)
Nas "Untitled" Album is a classic
Comeback season > Other drake

To many bars/metaphors trying to be deep instead of rapping with the flow of the beat.  At least that's my issue with him.
But yeah unpopular opinions:

- I think Dom Kennedy is boring and a very below average rapper.

- Rick Ross hit his peak and is on the decline, MMG is keeping his career alive.

- Game is one of the better mainstream rappers of the last decade, he's just too crazy to hone his skills

- Including all his work, Wale is one of the top 5 rappers under 30

- Meek Mill and Ace Hood are damn near interchangeable, Ace just doesn't have the backing Meek does.

- 2 Chainz delivery is why people don't take him seriously, but his actual bars aren't half as bad as people think

- Ludacris has fell off.

IS a terrible producer. WAS a good producer.

He's a BEYOND TERRIBLE "rapper" also.
@solarius49 - He doesn't make his beats anymore. A lot of what he drops is produced by committee, as he has guys like Mike Dean (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ike_Dean_%28producer%29) in the lab with him working on his recent stuff. With the exception of "Otis", I don't think we've heard a straight up Kanye-only produced beat in a couple of years.

As for the rapping skills, Kanye has always been just so-so. Take away the tracks, the fame, the style, etc., and try to imagine him on a street corner rapping acapella - your mind would not be blown. He has his moments (see: "The Truth Freestyle", "Gorgeous", etc.), but for the most part, he lacks in that department.

Plus, he's still saying "put the suicide doors up". Suicide doors go out, not up. It was okay in '07 on Graduation but he's owned several exotic cars since then and I have to believe he knows the difference. That just screams "lack of effort" to me. Plus, that "auntie team" line from "Roses" makes me grind my teeth at night to this day.

...................disregard that last part, that's just me being a rap nerd. I'm just joshin'.

Love you, Yeezus.

Kanye has always been an awful rapper but people put anything he says on a pedestal, I don't get it to be honest. As a producer I respect him, although his latest stuff can be hit or miss.

Frank Ocean does nothing for me, awful voice (spare me the good writing skills).

I agree about Immortal x 1000 i got Violent by design by Jedi but haven't really gotten into them otherwise, any album suggestions?

-MMG is so repetitive: Wale next album gon sound like Ambition, Dreams & Nightmares gon sound like DC2 and GFID is gonna sound like Rich Forever
-Meek Mill the best in MMG and I think everybody in the crew knows this
-50 Cent's 2nd best album is The Documentary
-If Big KRIT came out around 8 years he prolly would have been apart of OutKast

Its funny because I used to listen to alot of both of them, and now I cant help but feel like Immortal Technique is vastly OVERRATED.  I feel like he is just good for shock value.  I liked watching him on those old battle shows on the public access network, but I cant get jiggy with him anymore.
I feel like the High and Mighty and Alcoholiks get lost in the shuffle when talking about great hip hop groups

Pac was not nice
Jay Z Owned Nas

E 40 is a waste of time

UGK>Outkast

Finally Famous is garbage but Sean is NICE

Kush and OJ is the best mixtape in a while

Wale fell off hard

I'm a huge fan of A Mafia for a reason I fail to comprehend

Servants in heaven, Kings in hell is my favorite JMT album, mostly due to the phenomenal production on Stoupes part. I like all their work, but this is the record I'd recommend..

I pretty much feel the same way about him. I first started listening to him in 2007, and thought he was dope as hell. But it didn't take too long to realize that as good of his content is, I couldn't
get past him rapping offbeat so much, and trying to fit too many syllables in one bar (like Eminem has been doing since Relapse).

i used to be a huge jedi mind fan, i feel like their peak and downfall were both on violent by design; the best production by far by stoupe and easily the start of the worst for vinnie paz. i have liked them less with each album, paz is just terrible and jus allah is a joke half the time (but id still rather listen to jus than vinnie) and IMO stoupe hasnt made a solid produced album since rip the jacker (and VBD obviously). something happened to his sound that just became wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too formulaic

It's like he tries to hard sometimes to prove how sophisticated and articulate his raps are. It's almost as if he gets caught up in that aspect of the verse rather than tell the story or point that you would like to hear. Think of a really good basketball player who instead of just taking the wide open shot or taking two hard dribbles to get to the rim, unnecessarily dribbles between the legs, drops spin moves, and pump fakes to score.
Frank Ocean is a GREAT writer, but sometimes he over-writes to me. See pyramids as an example of that.

I agree with you about Kendrick, but I use that exact analogy to describe Wale

-Big Sean is one of the wackest artists to release in the past decade, I'm talking his music, persona, style the whole nine.
-Yellow Album is boring and Dom hasn't put out anything non coaster worthy since Westside 1, with the exception of a few songs on OGDK
-Can't figure out why y'all love Kendrick so much for the life of me
-Jet World Order > Stoned immaculate
- ASAP is in the loop with Big Sean to me, wack as sin good lord.

Nas is trash. I've said it in threads before and I'll say it again. Its all psuedo-intellectual, hypocritical, mish-mash struggle bars.

Andre 3000 is wack. I've already made a thread about this before so I dont feel like explaining it.

JAY-Z is not only the best rapper ever, but the best musician ever. To me Rap is the best form of music ever, and JAY-Z is the best rapper ever, so he has to be the best musician ever.

Rap is really the only genre of music I listen to, the rest of it does not appeal to me.

90s West Coast was also very wack.

The top Mainstream rappers>The top underground rappers.

This whole "He spits real hip hop" thing needs to die fast. You being outside the box=/= you being nice. That means you Odd Future.

Drakes the best artist of the new era. He seems to be the only one that knows exactly what he wants to do with his talent set and uses it to perfection damn near every time.

Lupe Fiasco is over rated.

Stack Bundles would have been huge if he didnt die.

KanYe held WTT back.
Kid, you had to be born in '96 to even have any of these opinions you've just stated. Jesus zombie Christ.
I was born in 89. This isnt a troll post either, and I catch heat all the time when convos relating to these people come up. But this is what always happens, its like I'm supposed to like these guys just cause, and I dont then theres something wrong with me. If you ask me, thats the zombie mentality. At the very least I respect what those people have done for the hip-hop genre and concede the fact that they have to be worth something to garner as much fans as they have, I just think theyre wack.

i won't talk about you saying he's wack because that's your opinion, but you do know that his impact and appeal were CRAZY when he was alive right? like skeezers LOVED that dude and dudes everywhere were attached to his every word. It was very clear that he was on top of the rap game by the time '96 came BEFORE he died.
I should have been more clear. I meant in regards to his musical appeal. I remember him being larger than life back then and everyone and their mom was enamored with him, even my parents. I just wasnt. What I was getting at is that his skills as a rapper are and were tremendously over hyped and if he was allowed to finish on his own terms what we would have saw was a massive drop off and elimination from the best rapper of all time discussion. I respect what he did I just dont like his music at all.

This is post is very true.

Have you ever heard the song "Ether" by Nas?
That's Tupac saying F**k Jay-Z.

I'm just saying.

I like jay too.
Yeah I knew that. For the record Ether was wack. There was 0 sting to that record and corny jokes like "Gay-Z" and "Cockafella". Super Ugly was better. The collection of JAY-Z disses in that beef >The collection of Nas disses.
Nas is only pseudo-intellectual if you listen to his bad music.  Like, there are people who like Nas because he raps platitudes about Africa with Damian Marley, but his early albums are incredible descriptions of street life.  Just don't be convinced that post HHID is what Nas is supposed to be just because people on NT eat it up.
