I compared her to Janelle because at the current moment I listened to Janelle heavy, and I wasn't going to STOP listening to it heavy in favor of Jhene. Even tho I've given Janelle a break I'm still not inclined to listen to Jhene. Like I said, that style of r&b, singing, whatever u wanna call it ain't for me.


Give me Quadron, hell even give me Lorde... but I'm good on Jhene (beyond her singing hooks for TDE artists)

Quadron has that true soul and artistry behind it.. theyre on a different plane from a lot of this mixtape r&B stuff to me

everybody is on her now but i cant get into her music. i keep trying and trying but something is just off to me. i think its her actual voice. it just sounds so typical and ordinary. she reminds me of the average youtube (female) singer. she can carry a note i guess (never heard her really go for one) but her voice just sounds...lazy. like shes never trying. if i had to describe her, shes a female drake. she talks about the typical twitter subjects and makes the typical quotables.

Can someone point me to something where she REALLY shows her stuff?

I think for her production her voice sounds perfect. I can't imagine someone like melanie fiona who has a soulful voice singin over her beats. With me what I love about jhene is the melodies she's singing with. Maybe cuz i produce music i look for simple things like that.

i do as well "maestro" lol. but i just dont hear it. as a producer her voice is so bland to me. alot of her songs have covers on youtube....that sound better than her singing. i just wanna hear her REALLY go for a song you know. not just these hipster singles i keep hearing that sound like they came off a soundclick beat and a youtube singer.

 Im not saying she has a strong voice at all. I think her mixtape is dope tho.

Rappers on this EP are terrible. Especially, Ab Soul. Talking nonsense.
