Think Tai will get a shot this season?

I was about to say that the only way Taiwan sees the Major's this year is if the Mariners are in the playoff race and they add Tai to bolster their bullpen, but they've already got some hard throwing pitchers expected to be in the bullpen so I'm not sure. I guess he'd really have to light it up in the Minors.

I think Ibanez is just going to be a spot starter and DH/pinch hitter here and there. Only way he can be effective at his age. He's still got it though...Somewhat.

I was listening to Brock this morning and he's convinced that one of the big 3 should get a shot out of spring training if they're equal to either Garland or Bonderman.

Not sure they need to force that, but it would be interesting to see if maybe one of the does in fact make it.

Peguero trollin to the max I see.

I'm with you on that, the last thing we need to do is rush any of the big 3 up too soon. Tai is closer than Hultzen, but still needs a bit more work on his pitches. It's kinda hard to gauge where Garland/Bonderman are both at considering they're on the mound for one inning per outing - I can't see us contending this season but like you said if we're in the hunt I could see a Sept. call up.

Wouldnt be surprised if they are called up if this season mimics past years...Wedge made a ton of roster moves last year with the yeam.playing below average..

he's managing for his job this year you think?

Justin Smoak finally gonna have a good year? :smh:

Sure hope so. He's starting off spring very well.

I was looking at some of the spring training stats so far, but AB's and IP are so limited right now it's hard to really gauge anything.

Everyone's hitting the ball very well it seems, but of the guys who have at least 10 AB's, Smoak, Montero, and Jacobs all have an OPS over 1.0. That's only 3 games worth of AB's though.

Of the pitchers, nothing really stands out right now because of the limited innings pitched except for Hultzen. He's pitched 3 innings and has 6 K's. Impressive.

Wedge? I don't think he is to be honest. He's dealing with the cards he was dealt, and isn't doing that bad of a job IMO. Plus the guys above him are always scrutinized for their actual intrest in winning ball games. Thats a whole 'nother story though...I think Wedge has some time.

I'm not holding my breath.

I know, I know, it's only preseason but the homers are nice to see... The chemistry heading into the season is going to be crazy!

Over 7 runs per game/24 HR's/Plus 25 run differential.

Anyone else think Bay will be on the outside looking in come April? Between Guti, Wells, Ibanez, Pegs I think they could work on a solid platoon - barring injury of course.

SMH at today's results...I'm going to avoid posting anything else until Opening Day, I have too much emotion built up inside from all of these exhibition games...I must resist.
My only exception would be if the M's scored like 30 or something...

Thames gotta be in the mix? Right?

or is he on the far outisde looking in?
laugh.gif
Oh no I forgot about Big Game Thames

He's for sure in the mix but I gotta think Wells get's in before him, and Eric starts in AAA.

I think Ibanez is gonna be solid off the bench for us this season. Bay, on the other hand, I just hope he's healthy for the duration of an entire season.

Good back and forth game going on today. Erasmo all but wrapping up the #5 spot in the rotation. 3 IP, 1H, 3K, 0ER

Morse/Morales go deep AGAIN

Thats 9 straight with 2+ HR's. M's down heading into the 8th, so the streak might be coming to an end.

Really looking forward to see what Erasmo does this year. The 2nd half of his season was pretty nice coming off his stint in AAA in the middle of it
