Not a fan of this trade. Had some issues with Medina but he's better than the 2nd worst framing catcher in baseball. :smh: :x

It's been debated whether this allows the M's to send Zunin0 down to AAA or if they play him less because Sucre is so bad. Either way, management has a concern at C or this move wouldn't have been made. It's never a good thing when you are forced to play a guy hitting .210, but a guy who is well below .200 is even worse.

And then there are teams that get to play C's that can hit .270 with solid defense. Lucky us. :rolleyes

I mean yeah it's worth a shot to give another guy a look, give Z some challenge at the position...and yes maybe give us someone who doesnt suck as bad as Sucre if Z is moved down to Tacoma for a while....while you dont really give up much for it.

I just dont see Castillo having much of an impact overall if any...He's had moments of being a slightly not as terrible hitter than Z, but not by much

Surprised it was Medina but oh well.
Maybe this will let Mike go to Tacoma and work on hitting only.
To bad we don't have anybody that can develop in the minors
 
Probably time to do something with Taijuan too. Spotted a 4-1 lead and can't get out of the 4th inning.

 Can't have that on a team that should be contending.  Send him down to get some relief work in then bring him back up as a replacement for Medina or something.

:smh: Welp, glad I'm going to tomorrow night's game and not tonight's. The pitching is pathetic on this baseball team. Walker is a mental ******, demote him to AAA ASAP.
 
Halos won, Astros beating A's. If this team is 10 out by the weekend, not sure there's enough Houston regression to get us back in the division hunt. Wildcard is wide open but still, it's already being discussed on several M's sites, if this team doesn't make the playoffs Jack Z GOTTA GO. Enough bald GM's.
 
I figured it was playoffs or bust for him when he signed a 1 year extension...which is fair at this point.

but I'll defend him a little though...there's some guys that arent even playing up to last year's potential...last year :lol:

Smith, Cruz and Happ...all playing to expectations and contributing...I cant knock him for everyone else's regressions (when 98% of the baseball wasnt expecting it)

Some moves need to be made, like DFA Ackley, send Zunino down to AAA, etc. but yes, a lot of this is just severe underperforming. Bullpen as a whole has looked atrocious, the starting pitching has been erratic and inconsistent, and the RISP average has been abysmal. Add that your $240M superstar is practicing wack-a-mole on the grounders and it adds up to a 17-21 team that is almost 10 games out of first place.

I am floored at how bad the pitching has been. M's started slow last year but they certainly didn't look this bad. Cano is performing under replacement right now, like really? The same guy who played elite baseball for 10 seasons in a row? Really? Only the M's. :lol:

USS Mariner is alright, Sodo Mojo is meh, there's a few others but I look primarily on LL. Where ever the discussion, it ain't pretty right now.

The Mariners deserved to lose because Taijuan Walker is not at this point a major league starting pitcher. It's not only Walker's results, which after tonight's 3 2/3 inning, 4 run, 3 K, 4 BB line results in a 7.47 ERA and a 5.00 FIP, but his approach and stuff that are completely lacking.

Also, will Lloyd's grumpy $^& stop sticking Nelson Cruz in RF? He's completely trying to erase his positives with the bat. Where is the permanent Rugg/Smith platoon in RF? Stick Miller in LF, and dump Ackley when Austin Jackson gets back to CF. That error Cruz made in RF last night was little league baseball.
 
LOL @ M's/Lloyd thinking Nelson Cruz's numbers are because he plays right! They tweeted his production with his bat, this season, while playing RF. Key words: sample size. Also, there's no way Brad plays a worst OF than Cruz.

Also, Montero needs a call up. As for Chris Taylor, Ketel Marte is knocking on the door so he better step up.

Oh and USS Mariner is the go-to site for me. M's fans are blessed to have Jeff Sullivan, Matt Caruth, and Co. maintain the site despite the actual team sucking for so long.
