**Seattle Mariners 2024 Season Thread ** | 6-8 | v. Cubs & Reds |

This team is back to blowing #%@#%. I was at Tuesday night's game, neutral fans were commenting on our minor league-esque lineup. Figgins and Cust are laughingstocks. Saunders, Olivo, and Brendan Ryan are black holes in the lineup. I was impressed with Pineda but this team will be Orioles west if they keep up this losing culture. There needs to be a change in ownership. Nintendo, Lincoln, and Armstrong need to go. It starts at the top. I've said this for almost 10 years now.

McLaren, Pawn Wakamatsu, Wedge, same #$@# different day. Changing managers won't do anything. Changing upper management will.

^ I can see your frustration and I'm not too keen on the ownership either. However, my perspective on this teams future isn't nearly as bleak.

This team is definitely moving in the right direction and it's easy to become impatient, but great teams, teams that sustain success for the long run, are built over many years. I like the steps we've seen taken and feel the progress, although slower than most would probably like, are progressive steps nonetheless.

The culture will be here soon enough. I think Wedge is doing great.

I have followed the Twins for many years and they had a stretch in the 90's that was putrid, at best. Meanwhile, they methodically built a culture and developed their system to the point that no matter what, they'll always be competing. Save for a bad year mixed in (this year), they always bounce back because of how they were built. I see the same becoming true of Seattle.

Just my thoughts.

Finnns - You're right about management...too bad that wont happen anytime soon

I hear you too

The next couple years will be big to see how Z builds this team for the better and if higher management allows him the flexibility to go after big players

The youth has to fill out it's potential as well

That Jack Wilson catch was nuts... but

I like the way Wedge is going with his intense, no-BS style, so we'll have to give it some more time.  Jack Z has been cleaning up BB's mess, but Figgy and Cust... damn.

Agreed. And hitting it big with the #2 pick is a must. Sorry for the pun, but if they blow that pick then I will be very disappointed and it could seal Z's fate.

Paguero screwing up aside, does League bounce back from this? That's his 3rd blown save this week right?

I didn't watch the game, but damn another BS, walk-off loss, close game??? WTH?

I haven't seen the Paguero play, but I hope this doesn't scar him down the road.

Wow...another one slipping away... Once again, let me mention that it's a LONG season.
However, we have to come together and League definitely needs to try to stay/get confident.
