**Seattle Mariners 2024 Season Thread ** | 6-8 | v. Cubs & Reds |

The longer it takes, yes, they can be had for less. Boras might end up crapping himself with Choo especially if the report is true that they turned the Yanks offer down. Wouldn't surprise me if Choo signed sometime after the new year.

My guess is Tanaka is holding up a lot of teams.

Would be a dream to land Tanaka and pair him with Kuma and King... yikes!
I hope they scrap Cruz from the wishlist and go all in on Tanaka. Especially if Cruz wants 4+ years at 15 per. Age, PED's, production are major red flags with the guy.

Preference to outbid for Tanaka or give up valuable future assets for Price. I'm guessing the former for M's fans. ESPN is releasing a lot of reports saying Seattle and Arizona are the dark horse contenders to watch outside of Yanks, Cubs, Dodgers.

Yeah definitely the former

and even if the M's dont land Tanaka, I still hope they stay away from Price..doesnt want a longer deal in Seattle, dont want to give away Tai and Pax

Still some quality pitchers out there for a cheaper price that would fit behind King and Kuma

Jack has options.

1) Overpay Tanaka relative to the market.

2) Trade for Price, with or without extension.

3) Settle for Garza, Santana, or Jimenez.

4) Trade for Shark at a cheaper price than David.

Unfortunately I think it's going to come down to the wire for Edgar to get in. I think he has 10 years left..I can see him getting in eventually when the fields aren't as tough with sluggers who top the ranks in HR's, RBI's, hits, and etc.

Geoff Baker left Edgar off of his ballot..clown.

They're shafting him

pretty much

one of the best offensive players of his time. Meanwhile Ortiz will probably have no problem getting in
I think there is a huge difference between Edgar and Ortiz.  Before you bite my head off, I am a huge Edgar fan.  I even modeled my batting stance after him when I was growing up.  He is a stud.

BUT....there is a glaring lack of postseason success with Edgar, which definitely sets Ortiz apart from him.  I personally think they both should be in eventually, but if I (or a voter) had to choose one, Ortiz is the easy pick.  Edgar, while ok, really didnt have great postseason succes.  Ortiz has had big moment after big moment.

Baker is such a bum, egotistical prick.

Wow I didn't even know fan fest was this weekend. Seahawks have the entire city by their eyes and ears

I agree, hopefully he can stay consistent, though. There were stretches last season where I thought he'd be put as a long reliever due to issues with his command. Surprisingly that hasn't carried over from AAA tacoma yet. *keeps fingers crossed*

Just got home from fanfest. was a good time like always but even the Mariners are all in with the Seahawks

Saw Cano walking gave him a high five, dude had a 10 man posse but no Jay-Z. Nobody else knew it was him when he walked by :smh:

^ Lol, nice.  And even after you high-fived him, no one realized it?

Heh.
