**Seattle Mariners 2024 Season Thread ** | Opening Day is Here! vs. Red Sox |

The M's just need to give themselves a nice 5-game win streak right about now to get over and stay over this .500 plateau.

It's a miracle guys. Cano, Jones and Saunders are really carrying the team right now, I mean look at some of these averages.

This is the typical M's style that cannot be sustained. We can't count on starting pitchers tossing 0-3 ER games every night. While it's great, eventually some of our pitchers will get figured out a little (Young, Elias) and we need more from the bats. Too many guys are hitting .150-.240 and it's a killer. We need a couple more bats to become consistent in winning. We also have a great bullpen right now but again, we know that can change in a flash (Aardsma, League, etc.)

Should we be concerned that Cano's power-numbers just aren't there... yet?

He's definitely not on pace for the 28-33 HR's that we normally see. His average is where it should be. Maybe he's not getting pitches to launch? He doesn't have the protection he needs right now and it's amazing. I just knew it was Smoak's year. Another .220 season should be the final nail in his coffin, as far as being this team's 1B. I am begging Jack Z to sign Morales to play 1B/DH. No reason Romero and his .194 average should be a starting DH in the majors.

At the end of the day, this team is .500 despite some colossal screw ups from the GM.

RBI's arent that far off from where he was last year even with more HRs so I'm not too worried...yet.

I'd be concerned in late June if it doesnt come back

To be honest, I don't really care about his HR numbers. He's in Safeco now, so he probably won't ever hit 30 HR's again. I think he'll end up around 20. So long as his average is up there and he's still finding the gaps, that's all that really matters.

We as fans all want so see power, but Cano was brought in to score runs and he's doing that so far. Can't be too concerned as long as that part of the production is there.

Man what's going on with the shoulder stuffin the M's organization? Everyone else is hobbled by elbow stuff..

So frustrating to see them waste chances to pull up and away from .500

but then again, it could be worse like it usually is

It seems like just yesterday the Mariners were at .500. It actually was, though. Now that all-too familiar dance begins, where the Mariners seem to move around a game out of an arbitrary goal, back and forth, and back and forth, until the season crumbles into dust in September and the next set of kids are pulled up to hopefully minimize the damage for the following season. I distinctly remember a point last year when the Mariners spent what seemed like an entire month around ten games under .500. Win--ten games back. Lose--eleven games back. Win--ten games back. It didn't matter, though, that ten games back from half and half was a pretty miserable place to be in. It just felt nice that there was some abstract goal in mind. So now, as the Mariners seem to be starting up that dizzy dance of over and under, it's sure nice that they are doing it around .500 this time.
