**Seattle Mariners 2024 Season Thread ** | 6-8 | v. Cubs & Reds |

Yeah, I just looked it up. 7 at home and 14 on the road. However, look at the stadiums where he hit those 14 HR's...Boston, Toronto, Milwaukee, Houston and Texas. He only hit a few out of pitchers parks (Minnesota, KC). AL East is great for HR hitters.

I knew the M's took Clement instead of Tulo, but didn't know we took Acks instead of Trout...wow....also thinking about how the Nats could've had Trout AND Harper... Crazy...

M's cant win...consensus pick was Tulo and they didnt pick him

Ackley was the consensus pick, and they do pick him....only to miss out on Trot.

Damn forgot all about Tui skipping on Udub to play baseball :smh:

Always wondered if he could live up to his brother's hype

 Ackley instead of Trout, oh my lawd we suck at finding superstars. I can't excuse Clement over Tulo either, considering we signed Joh to play catcher months later.

Whats also crazy is we were close to having another shot at Trout later in the draft but he went two picks before and we grabbed Franklin

Here's something encouraging:

Mike Zunino was drafted in 2012 and has almost as many Major League at bats as he did in the Minors. Despite already showing flashes of defensive brilliance behind the plate, along with yielding a decent right-hand bat, the best is yet to come with Nino.

DJ Peterson's ETA is second-half of 2015 and the M's have a plethora of arms in the Minors; don't forget about the recovering Danny Hultzen either.

I also believe Austin Wilson will continue to develop into a nice right-handed bat for the M's; assuming they don't package him in the future for an overrated injury-prone pitcher from the AL East...

I'm excited for Jackson, if Zunino sticks around the M's could make the kid a corner outfielder when he gets to the Show in a couple of years.

In 3 years the M's outfield could be: Austin Wilson, James Jones, Jackson

Pretty excited about Jackson. People say he is the best all around hitter in the draft. Now lets hope he signs

Trying to dig up stuff on Gareth Morgan, M's 2nd round pick, but not much info. He's supposed to be Canada's top bat.

Seattle continues with the Canadian connections...

So hoping that our OF has a bright future. There was a time when I remember we were so excited for Adam to be our next great CF for years, now he's making All-Star starts in Baltimore and Bedard is long gone.

Jackson is regarded as the best hitter in the draft with the highest upside, and you'll see mostly rave reviews for this pick. This isn't like past years where the Mariners may have reached for a guy -- JJ Cooper of Baseball America notes that Jackson could have easily gone 1-2-3 if the draft had played out a little different. Jackson is an elite, blue chip prospect who will immediately shoot to around, if not the top of Mariner prospect lists.
Let's choose to be excited about this one. Unlike several players hovering around the top of this draft, Jackson has superstar upside. For the first time in a while, the Mariners have an exciting prep slugger in their system who can be anything and everything. Prep players don't have their future already written the way some college players do. Aaron Nola, selected one pick later at #7, is already capped at a #4 starter, if you listen to the experts. There's no such ceiling for Jackson, at least not yet. That's exciting.

Time to make a trip to an AquaSox game. I'll check out this Jackson character. I think Everett gets their season started pretty soon.
