...on his birthday.

Heard the clubhouse is unsettled about that move.

Edit:

@ryandivish The clubhouse atmosphere was similar to a 12-inning loss. Players are not happy with the move.

And after a win too???

I get it. But I do so from both sides. I can see being upset as his teammate, but from a front office stand point, he doesn't fit with the goals of this team. Not even with a possible playoff run this summer. That said...gotta get the sense they're about to make moves.

The timing's a bit harsh for him, personally.

Yeah, he seems like a good clubhouse-guy, but gotta be objective about the operations of the team... can't make sentimental decisions, I guess.

Intrigued to see what they're up to.

Divish said its for Sucre being called up (he assumes)..

Yeah, Im sure they could have picked a better day to make that move

And I couldnt care less for Buck and I even think thats cold

I have no emotional attachment to Buck, but my concern is more for the team as a whole.

According to...

Curtis Crabtree @Curtis_Crabtree

Buck only played 19 games of catcher in first 89 games. Zunino has the other 70 starts. Likely need to give him more off-days to sustain.

Damn.

Eh. Zunino is a young buck (no pun intended?). I don't mind him catching all day right now. It's him striking out in between every home run that's my only minor concern.

That's offset pretty quickly though because I think he's gonna be a stud. Mike Piazza-esque. He's still super young to learn selectivity anyway. I'm completely sold as him being the everyday catcher...I have been.

I wonder if Castro is still on the table now.

In the grand scheme of things its a small detail...the team as a whole has to learn to deal with this kind of thing

Because more could be on there way out

Just cold you'd do that on someone's bday..as if you have no connection to the pulse of the team  :smh:

And if its for Jesus Sucre, it really makes it even more silly

Agree about the the timing.

Also feel the same about the team needing to get used to this business aspect...Ackley, Franklin, Smoak and many others are probably shaking in their boots.

So wait, who is the backup catcher now? They just posted Buck on the team instagram for his birthday. :smh:

Jack Z, why now?

How was Sucre doing in AAA?

I'm just of the expectation that Z is on the brink of making some moves and he's arranging pieces within this organization to try and get the chips to fall his direction when it comes time to make those moves. I don't know what dropping Buck means specifically, but it just feels that that's the first domino.

Read his numbers aren't really anything to get excited about...and that moving him up is possibly only a temporary move until something bigger happens

Saw George Kottaras' name mentioned as a pickup too.

Whatever happens, I hope Jack Z has something good up his sleeve.

Yeah, man...All these inclinations I have about a move being made, I hate that my hopes are slowly building up to a point where this all may flop in the end and it'll be a total dud.

Buck wasn't good at all, I have been preaching for that to happen for a few weeks now.
But on the dudes birthday? sheesh

They desperately need a right handed power bat. Will they get one is unknown since we haven't been in this situation for a long time

Seags becoming everything Ack was supposed to be.

Speaking of right handed bats....was looking up Brandon Maurer during the White Sox series and saw M's may have offered him for Dayan Viciedo

Not really the name ppl are hoping for...he's got power but his #'s overall are meh
