This was a concern I had, but ultimately, it's what teams in this stage of rebuilding do.

You have a good mix of vets and aspiring prospects that you are trying to balance winning with building. The roster is convoluted, but eventually this team will start to shape up. No concerns here. Future looks bright.

As for Ichiro, here's an idea.  Put this guy in the 3 spot and let him swing his way out of it. He's not trying to swing his way out of it right now. He's pressing because he's a leadoff hitter and he's trying to place the ball almost. Let him not worry about getting on base. Swing away Ichiro. Hell, why not?
 
^ yep, I agree with the issue of having guys in the same positions... gives the team some options on mixing and matching. Always good to have some alternatives.

As for Ichiro, I haven't watched a lot of his recent slump-AB's, but is he missing badly or just hitting the ball to defenders (which is just a matter of being a bit unlucky)?

His bat speed is just slow. He can't catch up to the fastball at this moment. He isn't missing too badly...He's making contact, but it's weak contact. I refuse to believe this is the end for him

His defense seems to be taking a step back as well. A little

Ichiro at 3rd, I like that...is he willing to do it? Ppl make it seem like he never wanted to do that in the past

Another thing, Can Jack Wilson play 3rd?

Anyway, I'm confident Ichiro will bounce back. Just a month ago he was doing fine. It's the worst slump of his career and something we aren't accustomed to, which is why it's so glaring. No way he falls off like that.

Ichiro had some good swings on the ball today, alot more aggressive.
