Probably something about Byrd being able to get gauranteed money regardless if he's with the Yankees in 2016 or not.

Vesting means essentially being gauranteed to receive compensation for previously negotiated terms or a contract, regardless if you were to quit or not. Im simple terms...If I hit 3 years with my current employed then I'm fully "vested" in their matching contributions when I quit. Meaning I get that money. If I left the company before that 3 year mark, then I don't get any of that matching contribution.

Im not sure if that's what you wanted to know or not, but I'm not 100% certain if it means the same exact thing in baseball terms.

This is pretty spot on from what I've read.

Part of the contract becomes gauranteed when a player reaches a milestone, and for players like Byrd and usually means milestones showing you stayed on the field. Byrd's is 600PA's for 2015. If he reaches that the 8mil kicks in. If he doesnt they can still exercise the extra year as a team option.

Congrats to Felix

Bittersweet record

Edit: This guy is going to get a complete game, throwing barely over 80 pitches :smh:

Everyone's in the football threads.

I'd like to go, but I really can't commit right now. August is an extremely chaotic month for me. I'll be out of town most of the month.

Safe to say Jack Z is gone if no more moves are made by 1pm?
Who knows, you would think some significant progress would need to be made with Jack Z in a lame duck year

but I honestly don't know what direction if any this upper management is going or cares to moving forward

Edit: and I just meant quiet as far as M's mentions in trade talks

He was fun to watch that first week.

also he's going to be a perennial all-star too most likely now
