**Seattle Mariners 2024 Season Thread ** | 6-8 | v. Cubs & Reds |

Didn't realize they play Toronto after this...HUGE! Winning tonight is a great start. Avoid that crap they pulled getting stomped by the Twins just before Oakland.

I know we've seen Franklin, Jones and Miller get called up and rake from the get but I feel this is different with Chris Taylor. He's so much more seasoned when at the plate, not a free swinger but he can send the ball into the gaps if need be. I'm so excited to see him play every day at SS because I think we could all agree Miller shouldn't be in the lineup at this point. The defense has been an upgrade too. He's been the best mid season pickup for the team

Re: Kendrys, i agree, though before yesterday he did hit safely in 5 of 6. I think we could see a scenario in Sept where maybe Montero gets called up and gets some play time at DH should kendrys struggle.

^Still can't help but to be skeptical about Taylor just because of what we've seen when all of Ackley, Miller and Franklin first came up. I agree, he looks good, but I hope he doesn't flame out as this team needs him now, the most.

The best hope for Kendrys is that he finds his groove sometime soon. He still hasn't been playing long relative to everyone else. That's the only reason I still have hope he turns it around.

Taylor will go into a slump at some point, but putting Miller out there makes no sense. Outside of a couple of games, Miller has been terrible at the plate and in the field.

And hopefully Morales, Jackson and Denorfia start panning out. The M's need them to if they want to have any sort of shot at the post season.
