Nike ID shoe damaged, voucher worthy?

dont know how it works for ID shoes but a friend has a pair of ID Durants that are torn in the flywire area and im wondering how does it work if the shoes falls apart from ID?

i dont have pics, i know they are worthy since ive sent shoes in before but im asking ive never had ID shoes so im not sure how it works for ID's.

I've never had to send back defective IDs, nut I'm pretty sure it works the same ans is the same process.
