Any one else fed up with Nike's idea to release Lebron VIII V1, V2 and V3?

Because people scooped up all the regular IIs at Marshall's for $40, Strengths were limited and I think still got RTV'd and Lites didn't even release in the states.

If Nike really wanted to recoup their money, they'd release the heat instead of keeping it in NR-2 or giving it to everyone in the "inner circle".   They could have easily pumped out 5 more colorways each of V1 and V2 that would've been straight heat.  There was no need for the V3 other than to sell people on the hyperfuse concept (just like there's no need for the Hyperfuse version of the AJ '11).  I know I've been really critical of the line lately but it's because I realize that there is a large constituent of customers EAGER to shell out $160 a pop for multiple colorways but are left wanting more.  I'm no pricing/allocation guru, but I know that the goal is to liquidate the most product at the original pricepoint.  Dolphins cw w/ speckle, SVSM away, Portland PE...Methinks you're gonna smoke those at retail.  But people are scooping up V1s left and right at the outlets and they're on markdown at inline retailers.  I'm just saying, why make yourself have to do a crossover, jump step, pump fake and fade away when you could've easily had a catch-and-shoot.

Raise your hand if you think the V3 is going to sell out at full retail, sans Dunkman Stealth/Anthracite/Electric Greens.  Not getting my vote.

If they release 3 colorways or 30 of one model or 3 versions of one line... we are only compelled to buy what we want... not forced.

Nike doesn't lose because retailers pay full cost. We don't lose because we dont have to purchase everything and we can purchase some stuff on discount.

The Retailer loses every time too many units are ordered and not sold.

I will readily admit I think we as Sneaker Consumers lose when they don't release something we KNOW would sell out even if in limited numbers.

I'd rather buy a Blueprint or Illmatic with 10-13 tracks and I know EVERY record is a banger than settle for Vol. 3 or Roc-La-Familia when I know those have certified filler in the album.  I ultimately have the choice so I can't complain if I choose to buy a watered down album but as a fan of the artist I hold them to a high standard and am rooting for them to go all in when that LP finally drops.  Yeah, Best Buy is gonna be stuck with all those cds and the label and artist get to claim how many units "shipped" but I still feel let down as a loyal fan who wants to spend their money but just can't justify the purchase.  I feel like Kobe fans are getting Taylor Swift (consistent chart-topping hits) and Lebron fans are getting some mixtape rapper (some commerical hits, ton of unreleased bangers).

What up DE.. you still gotta hit me up.

I feel you. You dont have to tell me. Many of us expect alot from the Lebron line. Not all of us look at it from the surface as pre teens waiting for the next best color. We are in fact older wanting the next best color... price... and quality of product.

Some of understand business and even from the standpoint of making money it doesn't always make sense. I think like many corporations and industries there are many who have been there so long who go with the mindset "this is the way we've always done it" and thats what stagnates the product.

Not until jobs are on the line from a management level will things change much, and even then people are only shuffled around and new ideas are not born. Just the same one's rehashed. Many believe if its not their idea... its probably not a good one until the person who originally came up with it is gone and someone else claims it as their own and eventually messes it up.

Hence... Marketing shouldn't look at Design and think they can take a creation and make their own story and story line and promotion. Perhaps someone who is close to the street, knows the different consumers can talk to Merchandising in Corporate and explain certain shoes just aren't worth selling to retailers.

It rarely happens, and we all know the concept of the HoH has failed miserably....... but whos accountable for that in the end? Whos in charge of what hits Niketowns and HoHs... why can't mom and Pops be rewarded with exclusives that HoHs and Niketowns usually get? Here's a novel idea...

In the cities there AREN"T HOH's make a Pop Up Store that exists only on the weekends once a quarter for kicks of the players from that city... make a buzz of a different kind. I guess it all makes too much sense....

Instead of letting Bron dictate what colors he keeps for his crew, reward those consumers who have been with this line since the AZGs and give special releases to different cities making the hunt what it used to be. People in LA working with those in NY to get exclusives not in their own town.

Again... too many same ole same ole releases... not enough listening to that dude who designs the shoe and has the pulse of the people. I know for a fact knowing how things work at Nike if I ran Nike Basketball for a year it would be its most profitable in a LONG LONG time.

I think the V3s will sell out if its the performance beast its claimed to be. . The V1s have hit the outlets by I think they've been a success,( not Kobe or retro Jordan success) the Breds and Cool Greys have sold really well. Every Nike GR hits the outlets in some form.

At one time, people only wanted one or two colors, but times have changed.

For the lebrons, you are actually getting 3 different setups and models. So Lebron fans are actually getting the better deal in theory. That is unless you hate one of the three versions and/or feel slighted knowing your favorite version doesnt really have great colorway choices.

Kobe may have 10 great colorways to choose from on one model. Lebron may have just 2 or 3 for each version. So I guess they had to pick their poison. Three models and less colorways? Or one model and pimp the hell out of it? It's definitely experimental. You may love a colorway on the lebron V1s but hate the model and wish it was on the V2s. In years past, everything was on an acceptable model. Now we get the illusion of having a choice, but is it really?
All Lebrons end up sitting in outlets especially that clothing smh

It gets annoying seeing all that ugly stuff at the outlets.

The Kobe are selling at least.

Lebron VIII V3 is my fav out of the 3 IMO the white red colorway had me

How can you complain about all the colorways that have released for the Kobe VI? I think it's super dope that they do that. Makes it fun to collect and we don't see the same ol' Laker CW's

As for the V1/2/3 thang, i liked the idea, but i HATED that they stopped releasing colorways after a version came out. I would've loved more V1 colorways.

Ahhh..Rock is back with all his GREAT ideas and NIKE fails miserably at what they try with Lebron/hoops shoes. Correct me if im wrong but doesnt NIKE/Jordan Brand own 96% of the basketball shoe market?

I have too many other things to worry about for me to be fed up. I really don't care, it just doesn't make sense to me. Seems like all they're doing is creating is outlet fodder to me.

Every time I watch a Petrie video with him explaining how they improved on "X" model with another version I can't help but think that the prior was flawed in some way. It's always "lighter", "faster", "push for the Playoffs". I don't buy it. One banger and let it ride.....I won't bother comparing signature shoes.

I haven't been a fan of the LeBron line since the IV. I liked the VII but only parts of the original and parts of the PS. Had they combined the fit and comfort of the PS with the aesthetics of the OG VII it would've been a solid shoe. The II.....that was a NICE shoe.

Well, I really feel pointless for having V1 then V2...and now PS...for the VIIIs~ the VIIs PS is okay. They changed it to zoom instead of full length max air. Now, they do the samething for the VIII~ kinda boring and non creative~. The VIII PS is a hyperfuse X bron VIII by the way~ lol....soon as I see the pic i shout it out: Whats going on?! Petrie is trying to include all the nike's top of the line techs into the VIIIs~ Come on!!! Now the V1 is really got dumped!! Thats not really enviornmental friendly huh nike?

96%  Really?  Ive never said all my ideas were great but I thank you for thinking so.
Also Ive def. never said they fail miserably. But the line as admitted by those in it can do much better revenue wise.  Right now much is dependent on retailers buying up inventory.  Sell thru's aren't what they could be.

So check your facts my man. Thanks again for the compliment. Didnt know you were a fan.
