Yi's best game of his NBA career tonight.

^ Seems like all the haters bounced after they got aired out in the beginning of the post

But definitely good game, got picked up in my fantasy league immediately after the game,

there is absolutely no doubt that there are racial linings whenever Yi is discussed, just like Yao. I remember back in 03, the hate for yao was a lot worse

Word. everyone knows this

Dang thanks for the clip. His shot looks good, and when he takes it to the hole he really doesnt shy away from contact. Its good. Definitely do see a littleDirk in his game.
Plus Yi uses his length (no h) ie. the put back dunks and taking it to the hole and finishing.

Those highlights look sick for someone who's 7ft tall, very agile player. If the Bucks jerseys weren't so ugly I'd buy an authentic Yi.

I agree 100%. I felt like he'd be a good player when I saw him play a couple of times earlier on in the season.

Yeah, dude is real agile and athletic for his size, and the fact that he can kill defenses by exploiting their weakest point (mid-range 15-20 footers) willdefinitely allow him to keep a spot in the league even if it isnt as an all-star.

his shooting form is real solid for a player of his size too, elbow straight up and down and a real high release

and even though it goes in, this mans form......

I don't buy into the whole "racial linings" deal as much as others, I'm sure the fact that he's asian has played a factor in SOMEpeople's reasoning as to why they dislike him, but he also didn't do himself any favors demanding a trade and coming off like any other entitled NBArookie.

But was it really racial? Yao was perceived by many to be just another over-hyped 7 foot + stiff just like Muresan and Manute and he struggled immensely tobegin his career, that's where I recall most of the hate stemming from. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing some sort of Yao ad, but he was still abit player who at the time was extremely popular for having a ton of unfulfilled promise.

My opinion is that in Yi and Yao's cases it's been more of a situation where they've been easy targets as punching bags given the kind ofsituations they've been in. Is the hate directed towards Shelden Williams racial?

a big portion of the hate for him and the notion he's gonna be a bust clearly is because of race (hate to play the race card but i have to throw it in).people are saying he's not that quick, not THAT explosive, especially on the Warriors realgm forums where a couple posters have just a absolute bias towardYi.

Everyone's still hating on Yi from when he demanded to be traded. He said he would be fine playing for Milwaukee, it was just the Chinese government.

Go fellow Chinese people!

1) You must note that the Bobcats have perhaps the worst front court in the NBA. Despite having Okafor, he has no help in the front court to stop anyone ondefense. A lot of these Yi highlights you see Jason Richardson guarding him. JRich is a below average defender, but you can see shot after shot Yi is nailingthem yet JRich continues to cheat off him.

2) Yes. Some of the hate on Yi is/was the result that he is from China and nobody really thought he played against tough competition.

3) I wanted Chicago to trade up to draft Yi. This is exactly why. He can shoot from 20 feet. He can pump fake and drive. He can finish above the rim. He makesfree throws. He's an above average defender. ALREADY! He had these qualities before he came to the NBA. Some good coaching, bridging the language barrier, and finding his NBA confidence will allow Yi to become a dominant player in the NBA. My projection is better than Amare Stoudemire.

That's a great stat line, but it's an expected stat line against the Bobcats except for the shooting percentage. 14-17 is f'n awesome.
