chopped it up with a PJ the other day.......short guy and incredibly humble....his class graduated 7 out of 146

just got to ramstein, germany a few days ago. gotta get used to the cold weather and i heard this aint NOTHIN. lol
just lookiin for a vehicle now so i can start looking for a place off base.. a lot of people i been talkin to speak little to no english and its a bit frustrating but it is what it is
anybody at ramstein?? please point me in the right direction of fine *** women that aint 5'10+++ but dont get me wrong.. ILL CLIMB THAT TREE

Just got assigned to 56th Stryker Brigade, since I joined the National Guard. It should be easier since I'm prior service, apparently like 30% of the Nasty Guard is prior service Marines.

its fun as hell out here and give the weather a few weeks it gets tolerable after a while. Also car wise check out the ramstein yard sales website thats where I'm looking for a car at. I also know a couple of clubs that have a good amount of bad bitties in them on the weekends too.

Finish your degree... there are plenty that i came in with that had them...choose the repayment plan, and what ever you do dont become security forces

I'm 21 and I've been thinking about going to the navy or air force for about 2 years now but even though I've been looking into enlisting, I dont know where to start. Another thing is as far as jobs in the service is there anything along the lines of computer maintenance like the repair and service of electronics/computers? That's what I want to do. Any info is appreciated

does anybody know anything about the armys Green to Gold program?
i met with a recruiter yesterday about reserve officer (AD would be great but the competition is redic), and she kept mentioning AD enlisted to officer, which ive heard mixed things about at least through other branches. i know not to take certain things they say at face value, but it sounded intriguing. i already have a degree and apparently i could be considered for OCS within a year or so in after enlisting but iono though.
does that mean after you serve your 4 years, you then are able to go before an OCS board review or is it you can face one before your 4 years?

basically you'll have to finish your first enlistment. But this program is basically set up for soldiers who dont have their degree yet, and want to pursue it, and eventually become officers. Dont do it, just try to get into some branches OCS/OTS, whether is Army, AF, Marines or Navy...
do you have any idea about what you would want to do in the military? Is it the Army specifically that you're interested in?

thanks for the insight...
im mostly interested in public affairs, intel, or psyops. i know the army doesnt commission public affairs officers, while the AF and Navy do, but AD Public Affair Officers for both branches are very few in numbers, most are reservists.
ive already dealt with Navy OCS/Naval Reserve officer application process and do not feel like applying again. i wasnt very competitive based off their test battery (Aviation Selection Test Battery). AF OTS is the most selective, from what ive heard, and am not really interested in that branch either way.
that leaves the USMC, with a Public Affairs or Intel MOS or the Army, with an Intel or Psyops Commission/MOS, as for what im interested in. this is what ive gathered from research so if im wrong, my apologies.

Whatever u do go airforce... Better food/living quarters/ shorter deployments/more technical jobs for the same pay... Use your mind instead of body..

found an interesting enlistment option...basically you sign an enlisted contract and then after Basic they send you to OCS. However, you are commissioned in an MOS that meets the "needs of the army," meaning they could put you wherever they see fit, and could go just about anywhere. people were saying they have been sending most people to infantry jobs who have pursued this option.
"Under the Army's Enlistment Program 9D, applicants enlist with a guarantee of attending OCS, after completion of enlisted basic training. The program is spelled out in the Army Recruiting Regulation, Army Regulation 601-210, paragraph 9-10.
This program is available to qualified non-prior service (NPS) and prior service (PS) applicants enlisting for the minimum term of enlistment authorized by the Army enlistment computer system, known as REQUEST (usually it's a three or four year minimum enlistment obligation, depending on the current recruiting "needs of the Army").
Applicant must have received a baccalaureate or higher degree. Applicants in their senior year of a 4-year college program may be enlisted into the Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP) contingent upon successful completion of a BA/BS. Army Reserve (USAR) OCS candidates do not require a BA/BS degree, but must have at least 90 semester hours toward a BA/BS. USAR Officers commissioned prior to degree completion must complete their baccalaureate degree prior to their consideration for promotion to Captain (O-3).
OCS applicants must have an Army ASVAB GT score of 110 or greater.
Under the 9D OCS enlistment program, NPS applicants are guaranteed enrollment in OCS, upon completion of basic training. PS applicants go directly to OCS, skipping basic."
