What are the chances of a person joining the Air Force and becoming a fighter pilot?

Are there any ways to fly fighter jets without being an actual pilot? Like for test missions or maintenance?

Officer field. Perfect vision. Must be 5'4 - 6'4.. and other @*$#. Everyone wants to be a "pilot" yet most aren't even qualified, let alone selected.

So i been thinking about this for a good minute, I've  talk to some the of the people at work that retired from the military or other branches, all young too mid 40's well 50's. They would tell me about the fun times traveling and stuff (buns all weekend/no war talk though), also every Monday or so, they would tell me what new toys they be buying

.Their all maxed out, so their bringing in more then 7-10k with retirement a month.  But right now I'm with a good company right now (good benefits) and to be patriotic I would like to serve my country, (might sound dumb to other people but i love my country). And with the company I work for, they'll hold my job/pay rate and will compensate my pay when I'm on training or on tour (*double dipping*) not really clear but need to talk to HR more about it.

Where I'm trying to get at is, if anything i would most likely join the reserves, but would it be worth it to be in the reserves for twenty year (four year sign installment) or just server the full time twenty and come back to my job? My life is a big twist and turn right now and I just don't have self control of my life, I just got hit with DUI on Thursday, it's really getting to me and got me thinking about my life and future. I'm 24 BTW, thanks in advance.

Statistically speaking, you have a better chance to make the roster of a NFL team then to become a pilot in the USAF, let alone a fighter pilot. And unlike the NFL, you gotta be really really smart.
