Congrats to him for getting to this milestone and being the youngest. There's always going to be someone else who will eventually break it.

I think that title would have to go to a center. Inside points>Jumpshots.

Kobe might have the best arsenal of all time, but I'd rather dump the ball into Shaq than have Kobe shoot a fadeaway 20-footer.

Congrats kobe. But like its been said he isn't the best laker ever. I got 3 ahead of him. Magic, jabbar, west. I love kobe because he plays for my squadbut I won't ride him because he is responsible for a lot of the crap my team has gone through.

No doubt Mike was the best complete player ever in my opinion and I truly hate saying that anyone is better than him at anything but in my opinion, on offense Kobe can do everything Mike did plus he has a better 3 point shot. It doesn't mean I think that Kobe is the GOAT or anything like that.

KB24 is a beast on offense no doubt. However, the difference between him and MJ in terms of shooting the three isn't as significant as some may think.According to NBA.com KB24 is a career 33.7% three point shooter. Mj was a career 32.7% three point shooter. I'll easily concede that MJ didn't takenearly as many threes as KB24 but the difference between them in that department isn't as significant as some have been led to believe.

kobe is a better shooter and on the defensive side, you cant really tell because the nba nowadays caters to the offensive player. and whats wrong withpeople calling Kobe the greatest ever? you ever think whoever says that is young nba fans who never seen MJ play? it happens to every generation.

also Jordan a better team player? i guess you never seen jordan in his younger days when he use to be called a ball hog huh? you have to wait til a playerscareer ends before you can judge how good of a team player he is. Jordan didnt start becoming a team player until half way through his career...

According to NBA.com KB24 is a career 33.7% three point shooter. Mj was a career 32.7% three point shooter. again you would have had to watch MJ's entire career to understand what they mean about kobe being a better 3pt shooter. Jordan startedshooting 3's more as he started to rely on his jumpshot than going to the hoop.

MJ had to work on his shot when he entered the nba. Thats why people say Wade reminds them of MJ. Wade could be great if he just worked on his shot somemore...

anyways what happend to this post? it was supposed to be about Kobe passing a milestone but it turned into a "lebron will pass him/MJ vs kobe"thread?

^ He brought the best out his teammates mentally although I'm not the one that said he's a better team player.... I agree with you though that everyonewill have their own opinions on GOAT and that the Kobe/Jordan comparison is still premature at this point.........

Congrats... MSG, 2nd best place to reach this mile stone for Kobe, second to a home game. Good timing too just in time to help promote the ZKIII in harlem.Anyone remember when Shaq reached his 20,000 pt mile stone in Sacramento? Some kings fan wrote on the ball and ruined it for Shaq...

LOL. I stand by my comment as ridiculous as it may sound to some of you. He's not a great team player I can perhaps side with that, but when it comes toone on one I'll pick Kobe over anyone, anytime.

In my opinion Kobe is the G.O.A.T. Before this milestone, before 81...he is just THAT dude. Everytime I watch him play I always see atleast 3 or 4 plays whereI go.."HOW DID HE JUST DO THAT?!" foreels.

Jordan didn't make you say that?
Growing up as a kid, I was a Magic Johnson fan and I hated Jordan and the Bulls with a passion. But watching MJplay taught me to respect him and eventually become a fan. The stuff he pulled was amazing and left me with my jaw hanging to the floor.

That's the point.
This generation will believe Kobe=GOAT.
They have never seen Jordan play.
this will always happen, 30 years down the line people will be saying
*insert new NBA superstar* is the best ever.
This is just how it works.

Anyways, back on topic- Congrats Kobe

its true that Kobe takes advantage of the new rule interpretations and Jordan played against more physical defense, but what evens all that out is that Kobehas to face zone defenses that can constantly double team him even when he doesn't have the ball.

Props

But as of right now, in the year 2007 and the month of December, Jordan's career overall has proven to be more team oriented than Kobe's career so far.

Yes, that takes into account Jordan's early days of being called a showboating ballhog. As of right now, we have Jordan's ENTIRE career in front of us.It's over. Now Kobe's career isn't over, but an opinion on his career as of today can't include tomorrow, next week, or next year. And as ofright now, taking into consideration the careers of each up to today, Jordan has Kobe beat on the title 'Better Teammate'.

Word. I hate Kobe with a passion but I can admit how great of a player he is. BUT you are kidding yourself if you think he is the GOAT. He won't evenbe a top 3 Laker player of all time if he doesn't get them out of the first round.

Congrats to Kobe for coming straight out of HS at 18? A.I. made his 20K a few weeks ago. Take that into context, no?
