Bulls Fire Skiles!!

I can't believe you guys are surprised. Skiles will have a career full of 3-4 year stints.. He's just not suited to coach grown men for long terms. Ifhe was a college coach he'd work his way into the HOF. He knows how to coach. He's just to arrogant to deal with grown men who have more value thanhimself to an organization.
He won't be the last one either. Ben Wallace just happened to be the 1st one that stood up to Skiles early on last year with"Headbandgate"...He's just a foolish man. You think Ben FORGOT how to rebound and block shots?

I don't really care about the Bulls or anything but this is a joke. How are you going to fire a guy for having a bad two months. Skiles is the coach thatbrought them back to the playoffs after the Bulls were the joke of the league for several years. And last year they got to the 2nd round. This makes absolutelyno sense.

no team has ever made the playoffs 3 times in a row with no all-stars, except skiles
skiles has flaws, he should be playing tyrus more, he has babied ben wallace with more minutes than his play deserved ,but he was fired being a victim of hisown success. expectations were high for an undersized overacheiving team coming off a 49 win season, and they stopped overacheiving. pax should have traded forkobe or pau when value was high .

About damn time...
I'm no Bulls fan, but i've been calling for this for 2.5 seasons now. His player management, substitution patterns, etc. are very horrible andbaffling. One game a guy will see 30 mins, go off for 20, 10, 5...the next night he plays 5 mins.
Horrible coach in terms of dealing with his players.
I do acknowledge that he's a good defensive coach though...and he instilled discipline with what was a young core...but his act has clearly worn off. Thatroster is too talented to be just 9-16 at this point. Hopefully, the next coach doesn't do a "player carousel" type of rotation again.

It absolutely cracks me up that most of the Bulls fans on NT were so anti trading Luol Deng and Ben Gordon for Kobe. Deng is an average young player that youall thought would win championships, and fact is he is a great number 3 option, not a franchise player. Ben Gordon is a volume shooter who isnt a very goodshooter. And the Bulls could have had the best player in the NBA. Its just funny to me.

Skiles is a douche. His act gets old quickly. He's a crappy coach that is too controling and screams a lot. That may have worked in the 70's but thesedays you've gotta have a guy that can relate better to his players.
His act got played out quickly in Phoenix...frankly I'm surprised a) he ever got a head coaching job in the NBA again and b) he lasted as long as he didwith the Bulls.
Whoever said that his substitution patterns are irregular and erratic is 100% right. He has no idea who to put into the game and when to do it. Same thing hedid with the Suns.
There gets to be a point where players just tune out his garbage.

You've just exposed your own ignorance. That decision was Jerry Krause's NOT John Paxson. Paxson wanted to bring in Joel Prizbilla. I dont think all the blame belongs to Scott for 2 reasons. 1. This Bulls team used to hang it hat on DEFENSE something we haven't 2. Paxson should've made a trade by now for someone. He's been to caught up in keep the core together that he's lost sight of the fact that teams have gotten alot better (Boston, Orlando, Portland). And to the people who want to give Paxson the boot, get the _____ outta here! He deseveres a street being named after him, for getting rid of Eddy Curry and Jamal Crawford and Bill Cartwright. I agree with the guys who are saying coaches like Skiles eventually drive players to tune them out.
Skiles is a good coach. But he seems to be a better fit for the college game. He's a Bob Knight kind of guy. Knight has had success b/c by the time hisplayers get tired of his ranting, it's time for them to graduate/move on.
LB, Carlisle, Czar, and JVG are all getting their resumes ready. And any of them would be a good fit.
The only thing I disagreed with is the timing. Damn, at least wait til after Christmas.

According to reports here in Chicago, this was weeks in the making. Also, there are less than 60 games left in the season. Time is a luxury this teamcan't afford anymore. After seeing the player's reaction to Skile's firing; I'm really ashamed to be a fan of the BullsOriginally Posted by J RAIN 23

Couldn't care less about this firing. The Bulls are making me not want to root for any professional sports team with their performance this year.They've been pissing me off. But, if I could get in there and make some movements real quick I would start Tyrus, do anything possible to get rid of BenWallace and really evaluate how well Hinrich and Gordon work together.

^^i agree with all that except the kirk gordon needing time to evaluate. they started all last year and this one.
evaluation: 2 short guards doesnt work great unless their jumpers are falling like mad (last season)
