at Shaun Phillips throwing up the peace sign to Jay Cutler.

smh.gif
at Phillip Rivers still jawing at Cutler at the sidelines. Phillip, grow thehell up. You're not even that good. This is why you will never be a great QB like Montana, Brady, Manning, Elway, Marino, and etc. Those QB's showclass.

Rivers' idiot self just put a target on his back for the playoffs. What a moron.

Champ needs to just run the +#*% over Rivers.......this dude is a straight clown

Hush that. How you gonna be a chargers fan and trash talk the main guy. The leader. Rivers has proven more than any other young qb in the league next torothlisburger, and even outperformed him to an extent. You soundin like a donkey yourself.

Rivers is twice Bailey's size. I'd put money on Rivers.

Why are Tony and Jaws making such a big deal over a little trash talk as if stuff like this doesn't happen every game.

^dude...get off Rivers ball sack. KB8 is a die hard Charger fan, he keeps it real. Rivers is not playing well, so he doesnt deserve to be talkin trash.

Philip talkin trash as if he puttin an asswoopin on the broncos on his own or somethin. Reality check Philip, Lt, your offensive line, and Chambers, have donemost of the work...most of your completions have been extremely innacurate. So stop talkin mess and step it up. Playoff time is coming, and we need our qb toplay better than you are playing right now if we are going to have a chance of going deep in the playoffs.

Now Shaun PHILLIPs is another story. Keep talkin' playa, they cant touch you.

Rivers plays for my team, but seeing that idiot side of him makes me despise him even more.

Acting like a kid. Dude is the starting QB of the team and should be leading by example.

How am I gonna say that? Because I can. I'm a San Diego native and know what the deal is with these Chargers.

Rivers as the main man on the team?
laugh.gif
The Leader? The Leader leads byexample showing class. Not jawing off on the sidelines to the opposing QB like he's in high school or college.

Last time I checked, the leader of the Chargers wears 21 and is the running back.

Typical chargers fans. This is a competitive game, almost a blood sport. It's what they do.

Rivers has been inconsistent but reliable none the less. When he needs to be pin point accurate, there's nobody outside of favre/manning/brady I'drather have. Yes he's been inconsistent and inaccurate on certain throws, chalk that to his inexperience. Once he works on his footwork he's good togo.

Yall gotta understand we are a west coast offense. Passing plays are designed like running plays in this type of offense.

EDIT: Leader as in QB, not captain.

Relax dude.

"Typical Charger fans"... the hell you mean by that? Were all on the same team here, no need to attack each other.

Word.

And you would think the "sideline reporter" would actually do some you know, REPORTING and try to find out if the cause of all the talk was a dirtyplay or something.

Exactly. Leader. Lead by example. Yeah, the Chargers are up. Yeah, the Chargers are winning. But why you gotta act like a 5 year old and taunt. I canunderstand defensive players, wide receivers, and running backs. But a QB talking down to a QB? Please, I'd love to hear what Brady and Manning have to sayto Rivers.
West Coast offense? When the hell have we ran slants and short passes? Phillip Rivers doesn't have the capability of running a west coastoffense well. He couldn't even hang off of Rich Gannon's sack when the Raiders were killin' it back in 01-03.

So tell me why a defensive player has the right but not a QB. This is football. You guys don't have an eye for potential. If I see my QB withenough fire to taunt a defense or anybody for that fact, that means he's not scared, that means he's competitive. Thats hard to come by in a young QB,even a vet.

He wasn't taunting the defense. He was taunting the opposing QB.

I understand it's football. Yeah, trash talking happens. But come on, when's the last time you saw Joe Montana on the sideline running his lip offto John Elway when the 49ers were whoopin' on the Broncos in the Super Bowl?
I'll give Rivers the fact that he shows he has fire since he'syoung, but I personally do not think he has the intelligence to carry himself as a great QB.

I hated Drew Brees when he was in San Diego, but honestly, I feel dumb for even hating on the guy now. Not once, in his tenure as a Charger, even while he wasstruggling did he not show class like Rivers did.

I'd rather have Drew back leading the Chargers instead of this immature Rivers.

Anyway's LT's back
pimp.gif

Reciever's were great against the 2nd best secondary in the league (or use to be...)

Rivers was inconsistent yet reliable like I said earlier. Doesn't matter, he's young and we're trying to build a dynasty with a QB thats got fire, competitiveness and isn't scared to throw a block for LT.

Clinton Hart is coming into his own.

BUT back to Rivers. I'm not gonna argue with fellow fans about our starting QB. But I will tell you what I see in this guy that you guys have failed tosee.

Rivers is competitive. The most important trait in an athlete. As a coach's son, he has the awareness. He makes his mistakes, what do you guys expect? Butthrough his competitiveness and awareness, he turns it on when he needs to. Last year he led the league in QB rating in the 4th Quarter. Howmany times did you see him construct a comeback last year? ALOT. He is VERY ACCURATE when he plants his feet. How do you think he throws so many jump balls inbetween defenders for our WR, considering in the past they had troubles getting open. At the beginning of the season our O-line was the biggest disappointmentin the league, Rivers was sacked more than any other QB in the league. BUT.... Doesn't have alot of arm strength. MY ONLY complain. Hopefully Norv can helphim out in that area.

Lay off my guy please. Show some support.

He was taunting Champ Bailey, the best corner back in the league not named Cro. I've watched games where Manning would NOT throw at this guy at all. Rivers came at him all night successfully.

And who cares about other QB's for different teams and genre's. If I'm a player. I'd rather play for a tough QB than a soft one.

And on the contrary to how good Bree's was/is. I'd rather have competitive tough QB than the supreme arm that Bree's has. Mainly considering thatwe are a running offense.

also I will admit, through interviews that river's seems to be missing some screws.
laugh.gif
but thats talking about his interviews, not his game.

I understand the Rivers/Champ thing. Champ challenged Rivers and Rivers went after him. Props to Rivers on that.

But what I'm talking about is the way he was acting towards the end of the game and on the sidelines after. Dude looked like a little kid that gotcaught on tape.

I'll lay off your boy, in the end he's still a Charger and he's still the starting QB of our team. But that doesn't mean that I have to likehim or respect him. Kind of like my issue with Sasha Vujacic.

Nonetheless, we got the W and are still holdin' the 3rd seed.
GO CHARGERS!!!

Agreed. I feel yall though, I've been hypin this guy up for years. Since Madden 06
laugh.gif
And it is disappointing to see the level of play hehas had this year, and even the chargers as a whole. But give him time, give him time. He's showed the potential, now the experience will come in to playin due time.

I agree that Philip should not have been talking !%*% across the field to Cutler, you don't do that...but we do not know what has been said on the field...

and to everyone saying who is he to talk !%*%, well right now he's 22-8 as a starter, that's not half bad...(yeah i know he has a solid team aroundhim)

^ agreed, but neither of them should be #2. LT and legadu nanee should be #2 and #3 respectively at QB

But jokes aside it's prolly because he is a free agent next year, and will be looking for a new home. So they are letting him get some reps to"showcase" what he's "got".
