The court-styled Huarache is back, and refreshed for the new year. Here’s a CounterKicks exclusive first look at the Nike Air Huarache Bball 2012.

We preview the shoe in seven colorways:

Nike Air Huarache Bball 2012 jump starts the original Air Huarache basketball shoe made famous by Michigan’s Fab Five. It takes the same Huarache neoprene upper and TPU support cage look and stacks it on top of new midsole/outsole tooling with a deep multi-directional flex bottom design.

Air Huarache Bball 2012 launches Spring 2012. Retail is $115.

I love the design all except the midsole but I sort of appreciate the late 80's early 90's lines.

Traction looks like it aint gonna be all that nice.

I would go even further and say that it is basically the Air Flight Huarache with a modern midsole/outsole.

What's the cushioning, regular Air or Zoom?

What's the cushioning, regular Air or Zoom?

 I was really hoping for something original from the huarache line this year and I'm not feeling the free midsole what so ever

 I was really hoping for something original from the huarache line this year and I'm not feeling the free midsole what so ever

i was just thinking about how nice it'd be to have a bball shoe with a free type sole. last one i remember was the 2k5s. definitely going to keep my eye on this one.

I dont even think colorways can save this shoe. The midsole just seems too out of place, even when it's all white.

There was a free hybrid boot that released in 2008 that looks better than this

When was the last flight huarache retro in the above colorway?

These spring releases all appear somewhat close to being decent but ultimately fail. Can anything save 2012?

Also, with a price of $115 and no zoom in the name, I doubt we see that. I am guessing maybe heel encapsulated air. But like other frees, it may just be all foam

the midsole/outsole looks like it could be a bit awkward but this is just the scan, i'm sure they'll look MUCH better in person
