I just looked at the Jackie Robinsons for the first time. I did not care based on the '86 silhouette alone but I'm a baseball and Jackie Robinson fan. They are atrocious. Nike says "Inspired by his team uniform" and it's ****ing navy

They'd be a clean shoe without forcing the tribute to Robinson. The butchered execution annoys me, though.

I agree that is not the same Dodger blue we see today. That is not midnight navy, either. Nor is the jersey even sail, it's much more cream/natural than the sail used on the shoes. They look like some crosstown rival Yankees sneakers lmao

I personally like the color way in hand and threw in the waxed navy laces. The thing that annoys me though is the double "42" branding. Outside of the obvious... I'd be hard pressed to find an am1 I wouldn't cop for 63 bucks otd. (Especially from Nike)

Actually, NDC-JP is doing a flash sale now and thus, there are tons of AM1s w/ various sizes left that are discounted for 40/50%…. Because of the weaker JP¥ on currency (now a dollar is ¥154+, first time in 30 years), the most expensive one below is Urawa’s $67+ while various Wmns models are the cheapest w/ approx. $42+…. Sorry for uploading so many pix, but since I had copped so many from US when a dollar was around ¥80(!!), have to let y’all know that this is the situation in Japan right now….
