THE OFFICIAL AIR MAX 1 THREAD

Awesome color blocking on that bespoke. I'm a sucker for dat brown. Need to find me some curries...

what color red or orange is that?  it really throws off the sneaker for me.

Not orange. It's infrared 3M. Looks different in the photos.
ahh okay.  thats actually a great material/color choice, but why with the brown?  no shade, but tan/brown and infrared do not go together whatsoever.  and navy in the mix?  almost like you got two diff colorways of two diff sneakers together.  theyre your kicks, so it only matters what you think.  im just curious what sparked the creation.

"whatsoever" might be a stretch and does seem to imply "shade".

Brown is more of a ginger/orange. Photos don't do it justice. I always work with Mau on the ideas and bounce back and forth. It's an iterative process. I love how these turned out.

yeah they look great.  just not colors/blocking im into.  again, its yours and you did what you wanted. so thats what matters.  what did you go in there with concerning the initial concept?

schaefmp schaefmp I have an appointment on the 18th, any advice?

Go in with 3-4 ideas in mind and keep in mind you can customize every small detail. Shoot me a DM and I can give you a preview of what's available (it's 400+ materials/colors).

If you are in NY, Mau and crew are awesome. They can really help guide you and give you ideas. Their old school sneaker heads so totally get it.

No offense taken at all. I had a totally different concept in mind with a violet colorway and I couldn't resist that ginger color. This was my third go at this and I go with different color blocking each time. My second pair is one this thread back some ways.

i dont think the bespoke shape is that bad. there is no banana shape to it like the GRs. maybe the toe box is much more square than folks would like....but its not that bad either.

worst part IMO is in the back where it seems as if they use a midsole that .5 too small so the butt of the upper sticks out too far. but thats not even bad enough to deter me.

it does suck that iDs might have a better overall shape though

That back problem is due to the materials some people are using IMO. Cashmere, camel hair and some of the other bulkier materials.

small difference, but stil a difference.  if you decide to do this, be careful!!!  the ironing singes the fur, which in my case i dont mind because i actually like the toned down look.  but you have to be VERY QUICK with your passes of the iron, or you WILL burn through the toebox.

left is ironed, right is not.
