The Official Anime & Manga Thread Vol: 三

Im wit you 100% on that. It's got hella potential. Can't wait to see it animated. Though it prolly won't be till middle next year :x
well, they just passed chapters 696-697 in the anime, so the middle of next year is a bit optimistic knowing that there are bound to be filler episodes between now and then.

Yeah I can't see them starting to animate it until the arc is done in the manga, and with Oda's new schedule it's gonna take even longer.

I thought I was being generous [emoji]128557[/emoji][emoji]128557[/emoji][emoji]128557[/emoji]

Maybe this time next year...man I hope I get real busy where I forget about OP for a while.

I'm cool as long as the manga maintains a steady schedule. Maybe with the wait for Dressrosa the anime can save up their budget so that arc can be real high quality, with good pacing

What are some animes that you guys would reccomend that I add to my blu ray collection? I'm mainly into action/adventure.
Are there any reasonably priced code geass box sets out there?

A couple of things.  Luffy is no where near dofla in terms of fighting ability nor strategy.  Dude is waaaaay too powerful.  The funniest thing when you think about it is that Dofla is what luffy was to enel.  I saw that because only 2 things so far can hurt luffy.  Haki attacks and swords.  Dofla might not have swords, but he has Haki and the ability to cut through you at will.  Also the kids didn't get the gas, so law shouldn't have healed Kinnemon.  It literally looked like to me that Brook dropped him and he was ok.  I was expecting something lame like momos dragon tears was the cure to the gas.  I woulda stopped reading then and there.  One more thing about Luffy, didn't he already lose in the FI arc or was close to it?  I don't remember but I know zoro told him to step his game up, son.  Last bit, has robin ever faced a opponet with haki?  If not couldnt they feel the hands coming before they sprout?  Logia users are also not falling for her tactics.  Btw why are mythical zoans better than Logia?  I get marcos because his is a hybrid with zoan imo, but a t-rex and a buddha guy?  Nah son....nah.

Yeah Brook tipped Kinemon over and the shell broke and Kinemon was then saved. Law cut the drug/poison out that the kids had been eating.

Luffy only got hit once in the Hody fight and that was the bite he took underwater. The anime extends the fight and makes it look more difficult the the fight really ends after the Red Hawk.  Zoro told him to get serious on Punk Hazard after he got caught when Caesar took the oxygen away. Luffy hasn't been pushed past a mid difficulty fight though once he's gotten serious, his problem is that he's too stupid and carefree. But Zoro also meant himself too, since he got put to sleep by the Yeti Cool brother's sleeping gas.

I think the only Haki user they've fought was Kizaru and Sentomaru pre-time skip. With the exception of Luffy fighting Chinjoa.

The T-rex zoan is an ancient one. The only mythical ones we've seen are Sengoku's Buddha and Marco's phoenix. They're not better than the logias, they're just "rarer" than logias. Ancient ones are seen as rare like logias and mythical ones are even rarer than logias.

Now to the Luffy vs. Doflamingo matchup. I see the issues being raised. Here's the thing we don't know how strong Luffy actually is since he hasn't been pushed yet. The hardest real fight he's had was his chinjoa fight in my opinion and he won that easily, but Chinjoa's firepower was halved due to his head being pushed in. We don't know how the match ups will work this arc, but assuming Luffy fight DD 1 on 1 I think he can give him some problems even with the strings being deadly. We haven't seen DD's fruits weakness yet. But I think fighting Doflamingo with CQC is the best option, which seems to be Law's weakest area. However, you need a few things to do so

1. High speed and mobility. Luffy has that. He's gotten fast enough to dodge explosions at point blank range and I'm not sure if G2 was necessary. Law's mobility was more in the form of teleporting around his room.

2. Good KH and BH. We can assume Luffy has good BH since his was equal to Chinjoa's who was a long established NW veteran and considered a legend. However the issue will be how does his BH compare to DD's. His KH seems to be good as he dodged the water bullets and sensed Caribou before anyone, the only thing is KH has been poorly explained and poorly portrayed so far, especially when 2 KH users fight.

3.  Great Stamina to keep up with DD for an extended period.

4. High firepower. Law's problem is that if his ability doesn't work he's screwed his fighting style isn't really for inflicting damage. He has Mes and counter shock as his 2 moves that inflict real damage. Both require CQC which Law doesn't seem to excel at. Sanji used DJ and Polre spector or something like that then was stopped. Hell memories should be stronger than both of those and he should have moves > than DJ now, but he didn't get to use them due to being cut short. Luffy has a large arsenal that we probably haven't seen close to all of yet since the timeskip.

We don't know if intel of DD's ability has been passed to Luffy yet, but the problem now is avoiding getting cut up. Idk what conditions there needs to be to control or immobilize someone, but it can't be too simple since he didn't do it to Law. His training with Rayleigh could provide answers there. Rayleigh is a swordsman, maybe not a pure swordsman like Zoro and Mihawk, but still. So if they sparred, he may have helped Luffy devise ways of fighting people who use sharp weapons and cutting techniques. Luffy also got bitten on the shoulder by Hody, we haven't seen him use Haki that far up his body. Now he admitted his haki isn't good against piercing techniques yet, but he may have meant that high up on his body. It was probably a combination of the 2, he can't coat his full body yet and it's not as strong against his natural weakness yet. I doubt this has been fixed since only a couple days have passed since FI. But fighting on land where his mobility is higher to avoid DD's attacks and any methods he devised with Rayleigh can be used now.

Anyway from what we've seen so far DD > than Luffy, but we don't know by how much since we haven't seen Luffy's full strength yet. Regardless I'm just hoping for a fight that isn't filled with plot armor or sees Luffy go down  multiple times just to fight later on in the arc. DD shouldn't make the same mistake Crocodile did. I could see Fujitora stepping in though or it could be interesting to get a Luffy and Zoro tag team fight. Just as long as the fight isn't full of plot armor, plot induced stupidity, and character induced stupidity I'll be happy.

New FSJ is out.
Nitian... :frown: |I
I think that was the best way for him to go out IMO. Now Wu Geng is going to inherit the sword most likely.

i personally think that Zoro and Luffy are somewhat equal power wise. we've seen zoro do some pretty amazing things, and we can only assume training with mihawk he has to know some haki now himself.

I dont think Sanji is too far behind, but i think sanji is also a smarter fighter.

Robin is another technical fighter and we dont know the extent of her power now, if she can split in two now and still be strong... that could cause problems.

What's up fellas? Don't post in here but lurk a lot.

Big fan of DBZ and Naruto but you guys and a friend of mines finally convinced me to try out One Piece. And I just wanted to say from the bottom of my heart... Thank You, Thank You all very much.

Zoro :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

And I'm just getting started.

Everybody said it started out slow but I'm loving the beginning. Did 17 episodes yesterday and this morning.

Yeah he went out like a g :pimp:...

They better hope Tian ends it peacefully cause nobody stopping him

Dude is all powerful.  This feels too close to bleach IMO.  Tian is Aizen.  It's looking like Wu geng will be everything.  Have the IP, Ni Tians Sword with the Dark Ones Power, Smeltering Aura, and he's part god.  He's Ichigo now.

anybody here check out the anime, "Welcome to the NHK" before? I came across it on netflix and it was too much real life, besides the little conspiracy people

That exactly what I thought. He will def get to keep it. Just want to see how they'll try and stop him.

I watched the first episode and then picked up the manga. I'm on maybe Chapter 26? Interesting to say the least
