The Official Anime & Manga Thread Vol: 三

Man, I've been addicted to the Yamada and the Seven Witches manga for the last few days. The plot is fantastically unique to me.

Looking forward to Hanamonogatari, and I actually watched Tamako Market on a whim last summer, so I'll be keeping an eye on for that follow-up. Never seen/read that JoJo series off the strength of how odd the title is, but I'll keep an eye on that too.

Anyone have any series from this season that didn't get discussed much that caught their eyes?

Definitely recommend Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 2012, easily one of the best I've seen, it can be ridiculous but man is it awesome.

Honorable[COLOR=#red] Samurai Flamenco[/COLOR] mention, don't feel like it got the attention it deserved.

[COLOR=#red]Robot Girls Z[/COLOR] a lot of people said it was bad, but I thought it was pretty enjoyable.

[COLOR=#red]Engaged To The Unidentified[/COLOR] it was pretty well received but I don't see anyone on here really mentioning it, cute show, hilarious.

and finally [COLOR=#red]Tonari No Seki-kun[/COLOR] not a fan of shorts but I'm sad to see this one end.

I agree that it felt like Flamenco got overlooked. Definitely a strong contender for the most unique show of the season :lol: It's weird that by copying a bunch of different superhero cliches, it actually became very... original.

I actually watch [COLOR=#red]Engaged To The Unidentified[/COLOR] as well, the male protagonist is hilarious :lol: Just realized that I don't remember there being any discussion of it at any point.

I actually started randomly reading the [COLOR=#red]Tonari No Seki-kun[/COLOR] manga last year, so it was a pleasant surprise to see it animated. I don't really like shorts either, but with chapters often being 12-13 pages, full length episodes would probably feel like DBZ fights :lol: Seki is the man.

I'll start with that iteration of JoJo then. I've always been curious about it as far back as like Jump Ultimate Stars for the DS (used to have it on Emulator :pimp:)

I can't get into mecha anime in recent years, so I'll take your word on Robot Girls Z.

Oh, and for the sake of not having my post be too long, one slept on series in my opinion is Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta. I think I may have seen a post or two, but it's picked up a bit in the last 5 or so episodes. There's definitely some cool aerial combat in it.
 
finally caught up on Kill la Kill.
like Mugen, I haven't been interested in a anime in a long time. besides Attack on Titan these 2 are the first i've watched in almost 3 years.
Mako is that chick.

**** it, I'll watch kill la kill when I get done with fairy tail...I'm taking a break from OP cuz I want to watch/read more than one new episode/chapter at a time...well I'm going to attempt :lol:

Hopefully they will both have me tied up for a while

They need to just make Hajime No Ippo a long series man. So behind and its by far one of the most consistent pieces of work out right now.

I'm marathoning JoJo right now to be ready for Stardust Crusaders next season. It's pretty okay so far, then again I'm only 5 episodes in.

I also agree with [COLOR=#red]Samurai Flamenco [/COLOR] not getting the attention it deserves.

Man I've been putting off watching New Challenger because I don't want to catch up and start Rising, I don't even wanna read the manga, that series set the bar HIGH for sports series for me, I don't think I'll see something that'll top it.

I'm gonna take the first week of Spring season off, gonna marathon all the new series in one day, gonna use the spare time to try to chip away at my backlog.

I saw the Steins;Gate movie too, man, it gave me closure but I'm going through post-series depression right now and everything ending next week isn't gonna help :lol:

Might just wrap up Psycho-Pass next week since I have like 15 eps left, might take another crack at Hyouka, but finding the time is hard, and if I land this job on Wednesday I'll have even less time :lol:
 
Just watched Chaos;Head on Netflix. It's interesting to say the least. Only 12 episodes so it doesn't take long to finish.

The fact that they were too stupid to notice that the imposter obviously comes later than the real deal at the end makes it even funnier :lol:

Be wary of any and all "spoilers" some might be legit.

You know someone is gonna ruin the fun for everybody.
