Nike Air Flight 89: now on NIKEiD

530

Bought at FNL for $40 and change.

When I wear my 89's my tongue on my shoes never stick up like these, is the tongue longer on different colorways?

The ones on my royal's ain't that long too

i was just wondering if these shoes crease, i got royals on ice and they look like they came a bit wrinkly on the toe box. cant wait for the black/white/red pair tho

It does. But not that much.

The stiff synthetic leather on the '12s doesn't crease badly initially but once creases get set they are impossible to remove whereas the natural leather on the '01 versions creased very easily but creases were very easy to remove.

This is why Im very selective with my flight 89 purchases and usually only buy newer colorways if they are suede, nubuck or the likes.

alright i guess i can live without a force toe gizmo, i dont think they'd fit anyway bc these shoes are snug. i like the 89's, i havent seen any 89 midsole that cracked like the j4's.

Out of all the 2012 AF89 releases, I found the black-grey (306252-010) original colorway to be the most comfortable (or perhaps only comfortable)...all the black leathers on the upper broke in old school style except for the perforated toebox section which is the new crappy stuff...none of the white based colorways broke in the same way for me...

not saying the 2012 black-medium grey AF89 is great quality, but very acceptable for a beater & i am very critical
(but you can see how much better the 2000 edition was, all multigrain tumbled & whatnot...)

dude, you're lyin' - them joints is only very near deadstock (VNDS) - you clearly wore them at least 7 times
they ain't (NDS)

Anyone know where I can find the house of hoops pair that came out last year? :/
Not in stores anymore. Ebay is probably your best best. People were asking $250 just after they dropped last year but prices arw alot more realistic now. I got mine last year but a mate got some size 13 last week for about $130 plus shipping. Great shoes. Get em if you can.

Thanks alot I'll start searching for them tomorrow before I head out to work

There are a lot of HOH pairs popping up on eBay at the moment.
I got a size 13 pair for $160 shipped to Australia from the USA last week.
I been after a pair for ages and never really saw any listed but now there are plenty on offer.
Had me thinking about possible fakes/B-grades maybe flooding the market but in saying that
The pair I got look very legit. Just weird that all of a sudden there are plenty listed on eBay.

Good luck scoring a pair dude.

I think alot of people have been trying to sell them for too much and are just sick of sitting on them. Now they are happy to move them at reasonable prices. I'm in Australia too. Would be good to see a house of hoops here somewhere for some of these releases.

The Swanson st store in Melbourne has a downstairs basketball only area they claim is a HOH.
They don't seem to get any HOH exclusives such as the purple 89's but still a sweet setup.

Always check it out when I'm in Melbourne. There and kickz101. Unfortunately the Nike outlet store hasmoved way out of the city so I haven't been there at all. Footlocker had stealth foams still sitting 2 weeks after release when I was there. They charge big money though. I was looking at a pair of air force one foams and they wanted $270.

^^ yeah true but that's nothing compared to sports lords on chapel st who charge $20-$40 more for the same shoes that K101 or FTL stock!!!

That comparison pic is so crazy... Old GR leather is better than new premium releases. :smh:

As much as I would have liked to cop the '12 blk/greys and a few other the OG colorways... I just cant rock with some shoes that look and feel like straight up fakes compared to their previous incarnations.

Nike has got to do better

would also like to note that (on my '12 af89s) the paint chipping is extremely minute; compared to all recent aj retros -> it makes you go hmmm????
