gonna buy into ethereum either today or tomorrow depending on how it moves. hoping it drops to around the $17.00 mark so I can jump in. Is coinbase the best option to buy with? Only thing I don't like is the prices on the app and desktop site are always different.

Get some ETH on poloniex exchange. Fast and easy. Just transfer a few btc onto ur new polo wallet, then purchase ETH on their exchange. You can set limits, so maybe you would be able to cop with a better rate. Good luck!

Its an ios app called Bitcoin Ticker. [emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]127996[/emoji]
I have instant buys setup on coinbase so it is super convenient for me. But for better deals aka "buying the dips"... i recommend poloniex exchange. You'll have real time charts, bid vs asks, and it just helps u alot on trends, and maybe a true market price...since u actually see the demand/volume.

Got it thanks man. One last question, how exactly do you deposit USD into poloniex? With coinbase it was pretty simple like I just linked my Chase account and I was in. For poloniex it's telling me to deposit coins? I don't currently own any digital currency (btc or eth at the moment)

If you dont have any digital coins, then exchanges use USDT which stands for US dollar Tether. Its a 1:1 ratio of real USD, it just turns it to digital format for all exchanges. There is an ios app for it as well. Main thing is u do need to purchase btc first to shift it into USDT.

ETH at over 20....
Idk how this thread isn't picking up more tracking. I've basically doubled my initial investment at this point and it's still on the rise. I'm tempted to buy at least another 20 coins but I feel like we may be in a bubble.

Always....Always.....have an escape plan. Here is what I do:
- download the ticker of your choice
- setup alarms at different price points (persistent)
- download and use shapeshift.io on your mobile. This allows you to "shift" bitcoin, ethereum, or whatever crypto to another just incase of a big DUMP
**Example would be....You setup an alert on your mobile ticker that if BTC or ETH drop 20%. Then you can shift your BTC to something you see on the chart that is stable or in the green (DASH, ETH, AUG, LISK, etc).

reddit is best. also add keywords into your google alerts so you get that push notification to your phone asap. keywords: Ethereum, Bitcoin, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, etc

gave you more info than I ever could have. I honestly should've sold off some of that ETH last night when I saw it hit 21. Its dropped a good bit since then but I'm good with it.
I keep alerts set on coinbase but I will look into those ticker apps myself. I should consider trading more than just bitcoins and ETH soon as well.

i didnt even know there was a thread about this stuff. BTC & ETH investor here. got in the low 300s early 2015. this week is critical with the ETF approval or denial. IMO it will be denied and there will be another drop in the price which means great opportunity to buy. good luck everybody!

good to have you on. are you day trader or holder? i too am skeptical about the ETF, but look at it like this....the proposal has been on going for 3yrs. the deadline is march 11th...would SEC be really that cold blooded to wait on the final day to say NO? I dunno. I would hope not. If it gets approved....OMG.

it doesnt matter how long the proposal is. bitcoin is not ready to be traded as a ETF. it is too volatile. it will be ready when market cap is bigger and price is $3000. i am both a trader and holder. i only trade to increase my overall holdings

i can see it go either way. i know the true holders are awaiting an official answer and not just selling due to emotions. if this btc etf doesn't get approved, there are 3 more pending ....including an ETH ETF. So it will happen, its just when.

i can def agree with you on the fact that sooner or later the ETF's will approve but i think 2017 is too early. I expect it to get approved next year. i sold all my btc and eth a couple of days ago before the decline and im looking to re-enter on the dip
