Now Afflalo, he can put the ball in the bucket too. I think he is overlooked.
Sad part is he can score, but it only makes his D average......
He was better as a scorer his rookie season.
But he made me not regret not taking Rodney Carney so I'm all good.
Marion has been in the league 11 years.
How is it I can make a case he has been underrated his entire career.
He has a legit shot at 19000 points and 10,000 rebounds
If he ever wins a title while being somewhat productive I would look at him being a Hofer before a guy like Grant Hill...

The dude struggled this season to knock down open shots and he is playing with two people that can command A LOT of attention. His 3PT% has dropped every year of his career (except for 1). He is not a scoring threat, which is why his minutes are limited in favor of Bearded Dude. He only played 12 mpg his rookie year, not really much to gauge. But he did score more then.

Per 40 stats, his 2nd year tells us he averaged 12 points per. - http://www.hoopdata.com/p...spx?name=Thabo+Sefolosha

So yea, I don't know what is underrated about the dude.

DC....what's your definition of "underrated?" Why can Afflalo be underrated and not #thaboface? Is it because Afflalo brings it on both ends of the court? Why can't someone who EXCELS in defense (but may be overlooked) be underrated? I'm not following. He's a good glue guy, and a player who most teams would love to have on their roster.

Players such as Monta and ZBO shouldn't be on the list, since they sure don't get paid as "underrated players".

I think Afflalo's offensive game is underrated because when I think of him, I think of defense. And I think most people do the same. But his offensive game is no slouch.

Thabo, is a glue guy. Nothing further. I think he is a solid defender and that is what people know him to be. He doesn't do anything that makes me say, "Oh damn I didn't know Thabo could ____ as well as he does." And I don't think many people would make that statement about him either.

But DoubleJ, you bring up a good question. What does underrated mean?

Are we basing it off of what casual fans know/feel/think about a player? Then wouldn't that make a lot of folks underrated?

Or are we basing it off of what people with basketball sense know? If that is the case, people with basketball sense know are aware of what players can offer.

Or are we basing it off of how much media attention players get in relation to their skill sets, markets, etc. I think this is what most think of when we hear underrated.

I'd make the argument that Monta at 11 mil is a great deal. On a better built team, he could easily lead them to the playoffs while still getting his numbers.
Would have definitely said Harden before the playoff run. I always thought Lou Williams could be a started. Dude gets no love.
