2024 NIKE SB DUNK THREAD_____GRs and QSs added

I've never skateboarded a day in my life and I don't plan on learning. I got into SB dunks because I liked regular dunks and they were very creative. People should do them, rock em, skate in em and praise em. To each its own

To each his own, and I got nothing against people who don't skate in SB's. I'm just always shocked at the "why would you skate in those?" attitude of people who are apparently into SB's. I respect that not everyone skates in them but I'm not the weirdo for using them how they're meant to be used haha.

 
man, i feel like i'm probably in the minority here but seeing the lance mountain's months back and the release quickly creeping up, I'm not all that excited for them. Personally, I'd like to see more original concepts like this but not on a jordan collab sb shoe. To each their own, but I'm also trying to go back and rep people helping out. Cheers.

I have always kinda liked them because of the paint coming off like SOL's. Also, it'll be nice having a royal and bred 1 when it's all said and done.

I'm TRYING to let it be a "surprise" and just post pick up pics but like I said... dude is faking right now. I don't know if I'll even get them.

Other two pair are on the way, will be here by Friday. Sucks cuz these are two I just kinda bought to "buy" cuz the prices were good. I really want the pair that OTHER pair

Yeah but at the end of the day DB 6's are basketball shoes. Just like at the end of the day SB's are skate shoes. You could say there are better shoes to skate in but I prefer dunks over etnies, emerica, airwalk, DVS, etc etc etc etc so I don't get the big deal when people skate in "valuable" SB's.

Every other person is saying differently. I don't know what to believe. One says its crap, the other that its amazing. 


Highly doubt they'd use "amazing" quality suede and leather on a GR though

theyre a premium GR so materials should be better then just a regular GR... mine come in today once im off work ill give my 2 cents aswell

Sure, you can ball or skate in retros/dunks but why not try a pro model like the CP3 line/Koston's? Just my opinion on them lol

I use to skate the signature series like janoski's and p-rods but i always had issues with them. My favorite skate shoes were the van's rowleys from back in 1999. Problem I had with janoski's was that there was minimal ankle support and very very thin, i loved the board feel but doing stairs or gaps hurt like a mother. P-rods i just grew out of, i loved the 1's, hated the 2's, loved the 3's and then fell out afterwards because i migrated to dunks. I feel like dunks are the crossbreed of p-rod 1's cushioning and janoski's board feel but thats only after you skate the dunks for a couple of sessions. Just my 2 cents.

Just my opinion but i think it's odd how some people will buy bball shoes and never step on court with them whether it be blacktop or wood. I buy bball shoes with the sole intention of rocking them hard on the court, i feel like it's a waste to buy bball shoes and simply walk around in them. not firing shots at anyone, just my opinion.

I don't own the first pair of AJ1SB's but my guess is that yes, it fits more like a 1. As far as I know, this shoe is basically an AJ1 with dunk tweaks like air cushion insoles and extra ankle padding etc.

Thanks, I don't have the first pair either but I wasn't 100% sure if they're using the SB toebox which is much narrower in my opinion than the Jordan 1's.

I was actually gonna post this question earlier when it was first brought up about skating dunks, like what do you think the percentage of consumers buying sneakers and using them for their intended use is? My guess would be pretty low. Like you said, a lot of people buy signature basketball shoes (LeBron's/KD's/Kobe's) but never wear them to ball in. Same goes for runners, how many people buy FlyKnit's or air Max's to actually run in? I buy SB's but don't skate, so it's just interesting to me to think about..

If I knew how to skate id have certain shoes for strictly skating if they were dunks id be copping shoes that go on discount... the dunks that go on discount are usually ones with unpopular colors so theyd be my certified skating shoes respect to all the people who do skate though

Got into Nike SB because I like the colorways and legacy of the brand. Like I said before I got in during the hype, stayed around because I liked (as terrible as this word sounds) "the Culture"

That is very true! It's like what Matt Powell of Forbes/Sneakernomics said, "sneakerheads" don't represent a major portion of sneaker sales and it's a niche market.

I'm just curious but does ANYONE in here actually skate in SB's? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills at the responses when I mention how I'm going to skate in my skate shoes...

I skate all kicks. I even skated in some beater jordan viii's. I mostly skate in blazers and project BA's, if lunaron is incorporated I'm in like cons cts. Don't like to skate dunks tho, only skate em when they are no longer "chill" shoes but then... they have lost their shape which isn't too aesthetically pleasing. Dope kicks=dope tricks.
