2024 NIKE SB DUNK THREAD_____GRs and QSs added

Last night I was out for taco night with my friends and our waiter was awkward as all hell.

I was wearing b/red ones and he gets way to close to me and bends over and just goes 'are those the retros? I tried to buy those but it just didn't work.'

My friends just made jokes for the rest of the night. Kind of felt bad for the dude

I would have been like "Nah, pre-release pair for 2015"

I've learned to not get weirded out by people complimenting my shoes, but one thing that really grinds my gears is when someone tries to offer me money for the pair I'm wearing.

I'm not Kramer selling my vintage suit to Kenny Bania at Barney's.

edit: And another thing that bugs me is when people comment on my IG pictures with something like "check out my IG for dope shoes on sale"

It'd be one thing if someone had something in the vein what's up and down my IG posts, but when I click on it, it's always someone trying to sell Jordans or the latest fad Nike Basketball shoe.

I'm strangely attracted to her.
Did you see her on Silicon Valley?

I don't mind the simple compliment, but I'm not getting into a discussion about kicks. Over the holidays I had a female footlocker employee basically following me around the store asking about my kicks. GF was looking at her sideways and it was pretty cringe worthy. A simple "those are dope" or "I like those" is fine IMO.

I know I've done it.

If i spot something dope that isn't mainstream I say "Nice shoes" and keep it movin.

I view it as way to let em know that we on the same page.

Now trying to start a convo or yelling out "WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE" as I walk into your store is awkward as hell.

I'm cool with "nice kicks" or "nice ____'s"

Can't stand it when they clearly don't know what they are talking about and try to start a convo about where or how I got these shoes that they think they know about.

A simple compliment is fine. I'm even okay with "those are cool, what are they" and then a keep it moving

Ya'll should expect nothing less from folks who work at your average mall haha. Especially in a place like zumiez.

But seriously, no need to get worked up over someone trying to complement you.

And the ATT girl....

I get visibly uncomfortable when someone I don't know compliments my sneakers
Yeah, i never really enjoyed the attention I received when wearing my shoes. I don't have heat like people here...I just take care of the shoes I have.

It's funny about the situations it happens in - my students will go nuts over random GRs I have, but other shoes I think are more limited or whatnot (no real heat here, either) get no response.

And I have not seen Silicon Valley...but I'm about to start.  I'm glad I'm not the only one who's into her.  Also, the new Wendy.  I have a thing for Everyday Spokeswomen, I guess.

New addition.  These are pretty beat but they were $75 and I've always wanted a pair.  #yolo

Worker at champs was like nice tigers (space tigers). I don't mind talking bout kicks as long as its with people who know there stuff. Don't like it when they're trying to have a full blown conversation when I'm with someone that doesn't have the same addiction lol feel bad for em lol and Yea ATT girl cute man

I don't think anyone complimenting or trying to talk about my clothes is annoying honestly.

It's a thing people do who feel nice or want to go out of there way to start a convo, knowing their stuff or not I don't care.

I like when people like the same things as me. That's pretty much it.

There are people who don't have more then like 3 sbs but know more then people who actually have like 50. Same with other sneakers, hell i got compliments on a pair of zx fluxes by workers at the adidas store who asked me where i got them, and they worked at adidas.

As long as a person doesn't touch me, or interfere with where I am going or what I'm doing, its all gravy

wearing attire/sneakers that are known to attract attention and being annoyed when they attract attention. wut.

people try to chop it up all the time in NYC. Just say thanks and keep it moving.

I don't get annoyed when people come up and say nice shoes to me. I have it happen pretty often. That's cause I wear some loud shoes at times but when I go out to the bar there usually one or two people that will come up and say nice shoes to me.
