2024 NIKE SB DUNK THREAD_____GRs and QSs added

I know the feeling but they release on nike.com 6/1 and they are popping up at more and more shops now.

im more upset at the level of stalking time i put into making sure i got my pair easily from premiere. NDC def aint a sure thing and ive been having so much trouble with orders from local shops. Getting the wrong shoes, wrong sizes, people shipping my shoes to other people and telling me they delivered it to me. Even shops claiming to oversell in stock item, then asking me later that day if i still want to by when their backroom deal fell through. I haven't had a smooth local phone order transaction in a couple months.... locals by me havent been getting alot to go around lately as well.

just hoping its a mildly availible GR.

Whats funny is I had just woke up and came in this thread and saw the link.My dumbass was still sleep and picked pick up to store lol.I called and they charged me shipping but I havent gotten an email or tracking yet lol.

1: yes she has a point. from an older male perspective most of the women come off as thirsty for likes in these photos. I have a few females I follow on Twitter and Ig that take classy sneaker photos and I actually see them as a peer/fellow collector. When I see these half naked chicks I usually doubt that they actually even own the shoes they're "modeling"

2: it has but lately it seems to be slipping into the j brand hype train all I see are shipping questions and resellers flexing

3: probably but at the same time I've been collecting/hoarding shoes since before SB was even a thing so mostly about shoes/trends I missed from 07-2011 when i didn't buy almost anything while saveing for my home

4: I may actuall get to this one at some point it would be a Sylvia as I'm building my third and probably last one now

Low (i don't even own a low) mostly white upper with a carbon fiber toe box and a bronze outsole just like my car

Hyper strike only 240 ever made all to be given out at formula d events to random fans in attendance

Haven't seen the white lace swap. Could you post a few more angles besides the front? Maybe it looks better when you see more of the shoe.

Question #1.) What are your thoughts on the video? Does she have a valid point?

This question "issue" comes up alot in this hobby. I'll put in my 2 cents because I believe my stance on this is relevant because I am a female collector.

Her observation is correct, albeit one dimensional.

Slice it up anyway you want, sneaker collecting is a male dominated hobby and that needs to be understood. You find a way to be a part of it.... you learn to work with it.

Maybe it's true, many female sneakerheads aren't really passionate about the shoes, it's just another way to get male attention. But like I said... this hobby is male dominated, and sex sells. You're attractive, show some skin, you'll get that attention because that's basic human nature.

However... many of us are really in this hobby for the shoes, and I would hope that this segment understands that respect may need to be earned but it really isn't a big deal nor is it that hard.

Foremost, know the shoes. If you know them better than your male counterparts, that can only be respected. Know the hobby inside and out. Knowledge is power.

Honestly getting respect isn't hard. Especially on a forum like NT where gender cannot be seen. I get mistaken for a man all the time. I don't mind it because girl or guy it doesn't matter to me. I'd rather you know me because I know my shoes... not because I'm some "elusive" female.

That said, it doesn't always work in my favour. Back in my college years I lined up 3 hours early for the infrared air max 90s. A few asian guys were ahead of me and when I politely asked if this was the line... I got laughed at. I guess I'm an unassuming looking girl who likes sneakers, what's the point of mocking me? You think I don't know this is a "guy's" hobby? It doesn't matter to me, I like them as much as you do, I want them as much as you do. I may be the minority but I have every right to enjoy it as much as any other "dude"

** Shoutout to one of my long time friends for sharing this hobby with me. You may make fun of me in every conceivable way, but at the very least you never mocked me over the shoes... and I'm grateful. :smile:

Nah man. SB heads have been pretty chill overall. You have different groups of people from different walks of life but I've never run into anyone excessively ignorant or discriminatory. I think people really try to understand one another here regardless of our differences.

Uh, I guess I underestimated the longevity of SB popularity. It has dimmed a bit since the mid 00s but damn... it's still going strong. I thought it would have died down during my 4-5 break I took, but no here we are... releases coming out as fast as ever and selling out no problem. I won't forecast anything else because on this, I was wrong.



Question #4.) If you were Nike SB and you could create a SB to represent your favorite car would it look like? Describe what the Dunk SB would look like using the format I've provided. (You can do as many different SB dunks as you want)

1) She has a valid point on women not getting respect in the culture but the reason she stated is not the only one.

Women in general get little respect simply for being women in male dominated cultures.

2) Not really. Like all things the sneaker community is filled with both bad and good. This thread reflects that.

There are few things that could happen in here or on NT as a whole that would truly change my opinion.

3) Again, not really. I like to have as much knowledge as possible on a subject before I begin to discuss it with others.

Besides some random SB spots and minor trivia there is little this thread has taught me about the brand.

As for what could make this thread better in the future, let's start with no more AJ1 legit checks

I also don't have a favorite car. I have a long list of favorites but no clear favorite so I'm just gonna pick Takumi's 86.

4a) Nike Dunk Low Pro SB Black/White

4b) Nike SB "86" low's or "Trueno's"

4c) All leather everything besides the tongue. Smooth leather. Black toebox, mesh tongue, laces, sole, midsole (only above the stitching), lace holes, lining, insole, the little area on the back with nike on it and that part with the 4 lace holes that would be the the flaps on the highs. Rest of the shoe would be completely white. Insoles would have tofu cubes printed on them. Kanji on the door of the car would be printed on the side panel, it would overlap the swoosh. Tongue tag would be white with black lettering.

4d) All the explanation needed

Follow premier on twitter. And set twitter settings to have text updates for premier. They don't tweet much so when ever something comes from them its usually a release
 
Anyone happen to know where I can find a pair of challenge red laces for highs?  I checked the usual locations, but I can't seem to find any in that color.

On a side note, never in my life would I'd have thought I'd see someone on NT say they were an animation major. I'm a huge fan of the "Golden Age of Animation" so any of those 30's and 40's Disney, WB and MGM shorts are my cup of tea (so to speak).

I'm curious to what kind of training they do in an animation course. Do they just go over the principles and make you apply them to your thesis or do they do something else entirely?

1.) I think she's got a valid point but I think it was a generalized opinion. Whereas there are a lot of females who does what she says in the video about posing half naked, I've seen many female shoe heads (mostly through KoF) who don't. I raise those same generalizations about guys who take splash puddle pictures or when they have two pairs of shoes in their hand and 5 more on the ground next to them, but that's my personal opinion.

2.) This thread actually has changed my perspective in the sneaker community. Before late last year when I started to post regularly, I had a very negative and misconstrued view. There was a thought in my mind that it was a "dog eat dog" hobby and everyone is out to eat for themselves. This was right at the time when things got ridiculous and everyone was gunning to try to have the next hot shoe and/or resell (about holiday 2011, black/cement 3's and concord 11's) everything they could get their hands on. Then while trying to snag a few SB's I missed, I found my way here and saw how helpful you and everyone else was.

3.) I've learned A LOT about SB's from being in this thread. I was always more of a "Jordan head" or "runner/trainer head" until recently so not being a skater, I knew nothing of NikeSB.

4.a) It would be a low dunk, the Nike SB x NSX-R
4.b) Nickname would be the VTEC's
4.c) It would be an all white low that uses the same soft, nubuck as the SOMP's except all white. The toecap, side panels, heel cap, all white. The tongue and laces would be black to represent a carbon fiber-ish hood with alternate red laces. The swoosh would also be black but there'd be red stitching to accent the black. As for the sole, I'd love to say gum (I'm a sucker) but aesthetically I don't think it would look right so just a black ice/translucent sole to represent the tires of a car

Like most Type-R Hondas, they're typically a championship white. Being Asian and growing up, my brothers were deep into the racing scene tuning cars and going to the strips to race so I did the little brother thing lol. The NSX was produced to compete with the Ferrari's and Lambo supercar class and it was always one of my favorites growing up.

yea I have a feeling the shipping email is going to come after the item actually ships. Sometimes shops are late on that and by the time you get the notification it's at you door, wouldn't be concerned.
