Yes Bruce invented a martial art, in fact he probably invented MMA, but he never fought a competitive or sanctioned fight past his teens...
That x the fact that the #1 rule of fighting is "never fight someone bigger than you" let alone 7 inches taller with twice the reach...
You guys are talking like Silva is some sort of slouch...

bruce would destroy anyone in MMA right now, Jeet Kun Do is a by any means necessary art, howevber it is an amalgamation of the other arts that Bruce learned through out his life. with that said i think there is only one person at the time the bruce lee OPENLY would not fight, and that man was Mas Oyama. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mas_Oyama killing bulls with one blow ... 3 day 100 man kumite (and WON!) 2 minute bouts ... theres some footage somewhere

bruce lee handsdown.. the man was a sensei.. a teacher to others. you think he would not be skilled and just an actor? please... i think anderson silva wouldnt even be able to beat mike tyson(not saying mike tyson is less than bruce lee), but that would be a better match up, since everyone is considering weight...

Bruce Lee is my fav ever. HOWEVER, we gotta be real when talking about this -- Silva can push 200lbs and still be in somewhat good shape. At his peak, Bruce was pushin 150. Weight does make a difference. Let's do this - Pick one current fighter that fights at 150ish that you would put against Silva. I hope you come up with none.
