NT Book Club Vol. WDYRTD

Brilliant writer. He's so quirky and creative in his plots and the devices he uses. Murakami is a genius. I wanna read it again now

I'm big into old basketball autobiographies and such. Recently I've read:

Drive by Larry Bird
Dr. J by Julius Erving
When the Garden Was Eden by Harvey Araton
West By West by Jerry West
Loose Balls by Terry Pluto

I just started Pistol by Mark Kriegel, and plan on reading either John Havlicek's autobiography next, or Earl Monroe's :D

do you like phil jackson?
sacred hoops was really cool
been wanting to read maverick

I'm actually trying to step out my comfort zone with the books I read. I took a look at my recently read books on Goodreads, and the topics usually range on anything on human psychology (48 Laws, Gladwell, a book titled You Are Not So Smart), race relations, and if it's fiction, it's by Dan Brown.

Any recommendations on anything different from these books?

U know another good book by him?
I read Kafka on the Shore...it's a little out there, but a cool story. Protagonist is a kid with a shady father that gave him this "destiny" that sorta unravels into what feels like reality.

I own Norwegian Wood, A Wild Sheep Chase and Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman (I think that's two novellas), but I haven't read any of them yet. Maybe I'll start Norwegian Wood today since I saw there's an adaptation on Netflix.

@ChampCruThik You ever read Descartes/ how do you feel about his writings? We read the Meditations in my metaphysics class a few years ago and it was the first and only time I understood and was in awe with philosophy. The wax ball, how error comes about, I think therefore I am. Was a fun summer class.

Jada, take a look at The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, it's a little long and out there, but great.

What is the What by Dave Eggers is a good read.
The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
The Age of Miracles by Karen Walker-Thompson
Ready Player One Ernest Cline.

Ready Player One is a really cool sci-fi read, same with Miracles.

Finished this last week. Great information in the book. Very insightful. Any Poly Sci major should own it. Or if your just political junkie.

It's been a few years since I read it, but I didn't enjoy it. Seemed like it was catered toward women, plus most of the info brought forth was stuff I'd consider common knowledge. Of course all that is based on personal experience. I think 48 laws of power was better.

just picked up the ****oo's Calling by JK Rowling
she wrote it under a pseudonym and it got praised as a great debut, then they found out who wrote it
i'm excited :pimp:

next book up is slyvia plath's the bell jar

Currently reading Norwegian Wood. Will read, Bad Monkey by Carl Hiaasen, next because my former coworker/librarian said it's hilarious.

^looked up norwegian wood, even though the title seemed stupid
read one line description: "a nostalgic story of loss and sexuality... narrator looks back on his days as a college student living in Tokyo"

its got at least 3 of my trigger words, so i love it already
nd i keep putting off murakami, so this is perfect
cheers for that brew :pimp: :pimp:
