Will be checking the strain out :smokin

Just started reading The God Delusion and so far it's :pimp:
Very thought provoking.

I've only had trouble wrapping my head around Dawkin's view on Agnosticism. Kind of confusing but will definitely be re-reading that chapter.

Just finished The Alchemist.

Mind blowing. Never thought a book could have this much impact. I've heard tons of great reviews before, but wow.

As someone who's 22 and trying to figure what to do with life, and whether or not my dreams are worth the risk and sacrifice of security and comfort, this book is definitely going to change my life forever

I try to read this book when I feel lost. It always pushes me back towards my dreams.

Man when I was in third grade I loved Harry Potter. I remember being in the very back seat of my mom's Suburban , lying down reading it on long trips.
As time went on I had lost interest mostly because I had been picked on for liking it. I went to a small school in Texas. I had read up to the third book and stopped there.
BTW I only had seen the first two movies.

Welp, here I am 21 , and after reading some Thomas Pynchon , I wanted to something a little lighter to read, while reading The God Delusion. So I picked up The Sorcerer's Stone and read it... in ONE DAY.
Man, it was so nostalgic , I had chills reading it. On top of that it was able to comprehend the words and the themes a lot better. It seemed as if when I was in third grade I didn't really read it , but really just scanned through it, if that makes sense. It blew my mind how good the book actually is. There was actually a part near the end that almost made me tear up. :frown:

damn.

Now I'm off to read The Chamber of Secrets :pimp:
then taking a break from the Potter series to read All The Pretty Horses. :pimp:

I'm stoked.

I didnt start reading Harry Potter until I was in college, to be honest the books really helped me out during those years. Im one of the biggest HP fans out there

I peaked in the movie thread and saw some talk about Harry Potter. Going to have to stay out of there for a while.

Going to have to stay away from social media.
Can't go a day without seeing Voldemort's face on a meme or some sort of HP spoiler :smh:

Might have to stop reading All The Pretty Horses midway and get HP over with

I've ran into an issue. Every time I read now I imagine a camera crew following the character's around. How do I stop this ???? :smh:

Finished Norwegian Wood. Gave it 2 stars out of 5 on Goodreads.

The first few chapters made me think it would be an amazing book, but then it went stagnant. Not so much in it's methodical pace -- because I enjoyed the day-to-day viewpoint of Toru and found it interesting -- but with how much Naoko annoyed and frustrated me with her inability to move on. Her friend Reiko became just as annoying.Wish we knew how it ended with Midori because I was rooting for them in the end. I just closed the book with a feeling of darkness, loneliness and depression. It is what it is though...Life isn't always a fairytale. However, the ending left a lot to be desired and his relationship with Naoko was wasteful frustration while she was in her "feel sorry for yourself camp." :smh:
