OFFICIAL HOCKEY THREAD: NHL, KHL, NCAA, IIHL

Embellishment is pretty common nowadays ,I don't like it but the gamesmanship is now part of the game. The only issue is that it wouldn't have been anything more than 2 minutes had Stone stayed on the ice,the Sens genius coach guaranteed PK wouldn't be suspended though with his comments

That was a lumberjack hack, man. That would hurt a lot. I don't think there was much embellishment there, If at all by Stone. That wack was unwarranted. And I like Pk.

agreed I am a PK guy but he straight hacked the dude like it was the last cut with the axe to take down the tree

I'm not trying to say it was clean or anything like that,it did look painful and unwarranted but just saying that I don't think it was intentional. Also it's playoff hockey,if they started handing out majors for overly physical/aggressive play, the playoffs would be way less exciting.

The league doesn't believe he deserves any supplemental discipline so that should be the end of that, the refs are probably gonna be calling things much tighter now though so that all hell doesn't break loose next game.

he looks back and he knows he is coming, he times the wack at his wrist and looks away trying to play it off as he wacks him.

I doubt that he was aiming for an unprotected area but it was definitely reckless,he better play like he does against the B's the rest of the series to make up for almost costing us big time. Don't know what it is about the sens that gets in PK's head though, his only 2 career misconducts have both come against them during the playoffs

Corey Crawford played so well in November that you can't even compare it seriously to the other months (1.93 GAA in 14 games). However, even in the other months, he improved his GAA each month until the end of the season without any exceptions. January (2.71 GAA), February (2.37 GAA), March (2.32 GAA), four games in April (1.78 GAA).

Glad PK won't get suspended, 5 and a game is enough of a punishment imo

It was definitely bad, and worth more than just a 2 minute slashing penalty but I think him getting kicked out of the rest of Game 1 was good enough

And I don't know what Dave Cameron is thinking  as mad as you are, you can't go to the press and announce you're going after their guys now :smh:

Injury update: #Sens Mark Stone has suffered a microfracture of his right wrist & his availability for the series is unknown at this time.

There are slashes, but PK was BEYOND reckless w/ his stick last night. That being said, I agree w/ no suspension. He got his game misconduct that's perfectly fine, and should be the end of it.

agreed.

the slash it self was bad with the lumberjack style hack, but i have no doubt he was trying to just catch stone napping and knock his stick out of his hands. guys do that ALL the time. PK isn't the type to hack a guy like that on purpose.

As much as it sucks not having a team in the running, the atmosphere of playoff hockey is something else

I do give AV his due though, he has 3 Presidents Trophies and 2 Stanley Cup appearance since 2011. I understand the need to win it all at least once, but he has been nothing but great for this franchise thus far.

Worried about the Wings' chances in this series. Tampa owned us all year. Just want one more good run for the Zeke/Datsyuk core.

Even if the Lightning win, I'm rooting for them the rest of the way. Been to a few games growing up, and they've got my favorite player ever running the show.
