Alex Ovechkin benched for oversleeping

The Capitals star didn't play Tuesday night after missing that morning's skate due to oversleeping. Ovechkin said he had set his alarm for 8:30 p.m., instead of a.m. The Capitals were blanked, 5-0, by the Sharks.

Team looked like **** last night minus Ovechkin/Backstrom.

He's had an exception track record, so this is no biggie. I love that Trotz is holding EVERYONE accountable, and no one person is bigger than the team. However, I fully expect the Canadian media and Mike Milbury to go on their usual xenophobic, hot taking tirades regarding this matter....
