Pickup Game Rules That You Don't Like Vol. ?

I can't stand cherrypickers. Also cats who think a give n go is a fast food joint. The mr handles as stated before, when goes to the hole and gets hackedcries. There is a new invention called the jumpshot. And last, when you play halfcourt if the other team misses and you get the bound take it back. That takesthe Barkley mindstate from the game.Get your boxout game tight.

best thing to do, which i do, is get a group of no more than 15 dudes that you know and play. we rent a gym 1-2 times a week, sometimes we don't have torent one (couple of the guys have access to a gym at times.) having more than 10 ensures that everyone plays hard, plays to win, because if you don't win,you going to be sitting the next game. everyone knows what "flys" and what doesn't in terms of "pick-up policies."

i know that's not easy for everyone, but any time you just go to the park or the Y or w/e, you don't know what kind of games you're going to get.

That's not easy in other states, but one thing I can say about Kentucky is that this IS a basketball state. I was born and raised in SoCal,married in Tennessee, lived in Ohio for a little bit, and now Kentucky. And I've been spending more and more time in Indiana lately because that'swhere we'll be moving next.

Of all those states, the EASIEST state to round up a dozen guys to play ball somewhere has been Kentucky, and it's a landslide. Even SoCal, where you wouldthink that an abundance of people would make it easy to call a dozen friends for a pickup game, was more difficult than Kentucky.

i never like to call fouls, even obvious ones, but yeah theres always those people that do, and yeah i agree that "and 1" thing gets annoying

I don't think offense should ever call a foul, just play them like they play you.

If you want to hack the %@+* out of me and not call a foul, that's fine, but don't expect me to open my mouth if I get a piece of your arm the nexttime you rise up for a jumper.

The only thing that bothers me about pickup rules is the lack of a jump ball. I have a knack for getting my hands on the ball when a player is shooting orfalling asleep. I'll get a hand on the ball and because there is no jump ball or tie up/change possession rule I have to nearly jack the other player totake the ball away from them. It usually leads to things getting out of hand, so I just avoid getting a hand on the ball unless I can get two hands on it andjust take it away.

I feel you guys on the military gyms, they're strict with the dunking rules. But then i played at a firestation on a military base and these fatfirefighters were puttin' the hoop down to like 8 feet and just jammin on people all game
