NBA 00' Decade Team

In my opinion, as far as PGs since 2000, it should be unanimous that Kidd is #1 or #2 and Nash is #1 or #2, and Chauncey is #3.

Iverson is not a PG. And for the time he HAS spent at PG, he is not a better PG than Nash, Kidd, or Chauncey.

1st Team
Kidd
Kobe
KG
TD
Shaq

2nd team
Nash
AI
Bron
Dirk
Yao

3rd team
Billups
T-Mac
VC
Sheed
Big Ben

*Edit
I can't believe I forgot about Billups, had to replace BD in my third team.

I'm not going to even go any further into this whole Nash thing because everyone is convinced he's this point god, although he didn't become great until he got into a free wheeling system with some of the best finishers in the league. This man has had Amare, Matrix, Joe Johnson, Grant Hill, Barbosa, Bell, Tim Thomas saved his%*@% against the Lakers...there is no room for him on this list. At least Dirk made it to the Finals.
I sorta see your point with the Nash thing. And all this obviously is subjective. BUT not having Nash on any of the 1st 3 teams at the guardposition shows too much bias and not enough fairness. Let's face the facts. He is currently a 3-time 1st Team All NBAer along with a 2-time 3rd Team, allthis decade. You don't want to say he's worthy of 1st team? Fine. But not even on any of the 3 teams? And you are going to bump Carmelo to the lastguard spot when he has only played a little over 4 years and has never even won a playoff series?

Nash was not at an MVP level during his Dallas years. But he was an all star there too. His total resume is CERTAINLY worthy of the all decade team as we standon this date, those who disagree are only on NT it seems.

Maybe this is my Celtics fanship talking, but TMac>Pierce? Bleh.

I love Melo, but I dont see how can he can be any higher than the three team, if even that.
BDiddy shouldnt be near any team. I know hes tearing the league up this year and last, but before that what did he really do?

You gotta have Tmac ahead of Pierce, just remember how much Tmac was tearing it up when he was on the Magic.

Yeah you right. But P Squared was tearing it up in the post-season as well, dude had the highest 4th quarter scoring average in the league at one point.

Dont all decade teams go by: G G F F C?

I like the way you think man. That three by Thomas doesn't go in..........damn, NT would be such a nicer quieter place.

Rasheed Wallace, Baron Davis, Paul Pierce and Vince Carter? Those are all good players, but not one of the 6 best players at the respective G/F position thisdecade. No way, no how.

Assuming I'm making this list after the 2010 season with a 2 guard, 2 forward, center format...

1st Team
G - Jason Kidd
G - Kobe Bryant
F - LeBron James
F - Tim Duncan
C - Shaquille O'Neal

2nd Team
G - Steve Nash
G - Allen Iverson
F - Dirk Nowitzki
F - Kevin Garnett
C - Dwight Howard

3rd Team
G - Chris Paul
G - Dwyane Wade/Tracy McGrady (coin-flip)
F - Elton Brand/Carmelo Anthony (coin-flip)
F - Chris Webber
C - Yao Ming/Amare Stoudemire (coin-flip)

The First Team is pretty obvious to me. Not much wiggle room at all, imo... Second Team is pretty straight-forward in my opinion, though you can definatelymake an argument to switch a player or two from 2nd to 3rd...

You guys should get axed for putting Stat or Yao over Ben Wallace.

Big Ben in his prime was a brick wall on defense. That is so undervalued when creating these teams.

SMH @ NT's "youthful" mindframes....

Big Ben in his prime was a brick wall on defense. That is so undervalued when creating these teams.
What makes him better than Yao or Amare 2-3 years from now? Sure, he was a good defender, but he is pathetic offensively. I suppose you could makea case for him over Yao, but Yao still has tons of room to improve. In 2010 the gap between him and Amare will be a large one.
how can you put Lebron over KG? even moreso, how can you put Dwight Howard over Yao/Amare/Wallace? IMO Howard doesn't belong in the top 3 at all, this is his first year of being elite.
If you read, you'd see I'm projecting that list to after the 2010 season, it's not a list of how they'd rank today. LeBron overGarnett because because he has carried a team on his back into the Finals with comparable talent to what surrounded KG in Minnesota all those years withnumbers that are at least equal, if not better than what Garnett has posted...If Garnett gets a ring this year, he might jump back over Bron, but even still,I'm projecting to 2010 so...

Maybe that's where we differ. I'm judging based off '00-present, whereas you seem to be predicting off what could happen

My team is based AFTER the 2010 season. So some of the guys I'm putting on there based on what I think they will do in the future. That's why I putLebron on the first team and Melo on the second

1st team

Kidd
Kobe
LeBron/KG take your pick
Duncan
Shaq

2nd team

A.I.
DWade
Melo
CWebb
Amare

3rd Team

Nash
VC
TMac
Dirk
Amare

Honorable Mention
Gary Payton
Ray Allen
Ben Wallace
Paul Peirce
Reggie Miller.. Hmm.. I kinda wanna put him on my third team..
Jermaine Oneal
Dwight Howard
Robert Horry.. Just because of his big shots and titles
Chauncy Billups

Anyone that picked AI over Kobe for the All-Decade team should explain why... don't just pick AI because you are a Kobe hater.
Yes, Kobe did play on a better team with the dominating Shaq but the Lakers played in the dominating West. They had to go through Sacramento, San Antonio,Dallas, and Portland to win those Championships and Kobe was clutch in every one of those series. Remember when Shaq fouled out against Indiana and Kobe tookover?

AI has impressive numbers but thats it. yeah he took the 76ers to the finals from the weak East but they got destroyed 4-1.

only thing AI has over Kobe is the MVP throphy that really means nothing...

^And who's the hater?

You sound salty for no reason, trying to diminish AI's accomplishments. F outta here.

They both are GREAT and that's all that matters. Neither one should be pit against the other. I feel that they both belong in first team, and you canguarantee if a list ever comes out for that, AI will be on first team before Jason Kidd.

Why would you guys do a projected lineup of post-2010 instead of a current lineup of 'This Decade's Teams as of Now'?

And I like Nowitnes' GGFFC format over my 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 format, so I'm going to tweak mine a little later.

SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHY A.I. is not ahead of kobe? Please..............A.I. since 2000>Kobe 2000. Look it up.

I simply say Kobe over AI because Kobe has been the best at his position and argubly the best player period since 2001. Ok argubly the best player since'03, but best at his position since 2001 and argued even with AI's great 2000 season.

I don't think anyone Lebron should get mention or anyone from his class.

To me still career vs. career Tmac, AI>Lebron and Wade.
