The new oldest profession?

Yes, Miami Heat guard Jason Williams said, the rumors have hit home. "The thing about it is how it affects your family," Williams said beforescoring nine points in Tues day's 96-82 loss to the Cavaliers. With the trading deadline less than two months away, Williams said he can't help feelhe's viewed more as an expiring contract than a needed contributor. "We're like some high-paid prostitutes anywayin this league," he said. "They just use and get rid of us whenever they want." Williams is in the final year of a con tract that pays$8.9 million this season. "If it happens, it happens," he said. What Williams doesn't appreciate is be ing scapegoated. "Losing, everybody's just going to start to look for reasons why," he said. "Blame this, blame that, blame him, blame me."

Dear Jason Williams,

Even prostitutes don't leave Daniel Gibson to seal Andy Varejao.

Sincerely,

A fan that watched you on Christmas

dudes really expect any sort of sympathy? please get off that

you don't have to work for the rest of your lives after your career is over. stop crying and deal with it for a few years

bunch of lucky dudes who would be sweeping floors if it wasn't for their ball playing ability. that's all it is. you're entertaining us. not curingcancer

it's not even that. we can all sympathize with athletes at certain times. but he just dropped an idiotic statement in response to traderumors.

Someone needs to remind Jason that if you produce relative to your earnings you probably won't have to worry about teams shipping you out.

I prefer this one:
Reporter: What did you cherish most about your time at Florida?
JWill: I cherished getting kicked out of school. It was a great thing. I became a millionaire.

my theory is, anyone who plays a game and is paid over 150k a year deserves no sympathy for anything that isnt life threatening or family related ...

He never complained about the money.... And you guys are morons if you honestly think that you are somehow intellectually superior to an athlete. Them being>>>>>>>>>>>> than you in athletics and talent, work ethic etc.. does not make you>>>>>>>>>>>>> than them in terms of intellect and other matters. The two are not related. You will find that manyathletes who screw up academically etc... do so because they know (more like assume because most don't make it) that they're gonna be athletes and putno stock in academia whatsoever. To assume that they would react the same way without the lure of athletics is moronic and irresponsible...

That being said, J Will is right.... And if you read it properly he didn't complain about the money he's making...

it all makes sense now

That's the risk that you take when you're not an elite player...you may be moved at any time whether it is during the deadlines or off season.

You get paid a certain amount. You are expected to perform at a certain level and welcomely higher. If you don't, blame yourself.
