I would love to see future hop on every damn remix and feature like Wayne did. He would sound horrible. Futures that dude but he only sounds good on songs he structures. Wayne has always been overrated lyrically but future isn't half the MC Wayne was

Woah to that point also, Future fits in on other people's track pretty seamlessly himself, and ddude does A lot of features, it's just Wayne has done what he has done on a bigger and more impactful level & now that years have gone by 90% of that stuff doesn't sound dated & can be played.

Yea can't front on the Wa_n_ run as far as popularity goes. It was completely unreal, the radio was basically "Featuring Lil' Wa_n_". He was on everybody's songs and all up in the videos. 06-09 "best rapper" phase, then the skateboarding druggie phase from I guess 2010-2013(?). Wa_n_ wins on sheer agonizing numbers alone.

Never heard Future put himself in an elite category of "best rapper" though.

I can't even compare Wayne and Future. 04-08 Wayne was straight rapping. In 09 he started doing the melodic thing here and there.


I don't even consider Future, Rich Homie and Thug as straight up rappers. What they do is different.

Oh no doubt, but you have people comparing a guy claiming to be the "best rapper alive" to a guy that some people were not even considering a rapper at one point. That's why the comparisons of runs is sort of off base to me cause they're not even the same type of artists.

This topic has been had a few times the last year and a half .

Wayne's run was longer, and more spaced out. 04-09. Futures Run is shorter, but quality. Future is also putting out all original music at a faster rate. I can't say who's run is better...but they are both different and up there. Id go with Wayne because he dropped 2 Clasic Albums in a 2 year period....with dope mixtapes in between.

Future run is right up there though...

Wayne's Run in 04-05 was insane.
