Happy national running day guys!

Forgot to post this pickup, got them on Friday.

Have put on 24miles already and feel great. I used to wear Asic gel-ds trainer 20s before. Those were kind of bulky, these are really light and have so much room in the toebox. I def feel faster with these and know they're better for me :pimp:

Mizuno wave sayonara 2s. I paid $115 at the running store, online they are going for around $65 in places :nerd:. def re-buying after they get retired.

Yeah im resting my calves. Standing all day at work and running is gonna be a no no. My calf doesnt hurt too much when I walk (post run) but when I run the roller stick over it, its pretty painful. After a few runs with the stick it feels good, but still tender in some spots. I guess its a bit strained and just needs some rest and TLC. Wasnt gonna run today but put in a mile for National Running Day. Kinda a mistake.

A full week should be ok for rest? What you guys think? Doesnt hurt really when I walk, just when I apply a bit of pressure touching it or using the stick roller even lightly. Its more my right calf.

Well back to the grind. I've stated before in the thread that I ran a marathon back in January 2013 so have yet to run since then. 2.5 years and no running but I still hit the weights.

Well, GF and I just signed up for the Houston marathon in January. Want to be more serious this time around.

Any specific programs yall recommend? I'm usually not too good with strict programs since I feel bad on test days and still end up running.

Also, I bought a nike Tomtom GPS for cheap but might return it at nike since it takes a while to start tracking etc. I bought it since I do not like running with a phone or anything on me. Main reason I chose the Nike Garmin was to sync my runs on Nike+. Any suggestions for GPS watch?

Thanks guys.

Guess it's a sign. GF signed me up for the marathon on national running day. No better time to start the running, from a 2.5 year period with absolutely no running, then now.

Didn't really feel like running once I got home from the gym but man, once you get out that door it gets rolling. The best days seem to be the days you don't want to do it but afterwards you feel accomplished.

It'll get better. Hopefully. Returning my Nike TomTom GPS watch and debating between the Garmin FR15 and the Fitbit Surge. Garmin can upload to nike+ but i'm not too sure about the Fitbit.

no problem . nice pickup, good price.

I have no issues with the plantronics backbeat fit :pimp:. they were awesome throughout the entire run. The only thing I noticed that I might need to be careful about more is, towards the end of my run, I stopped for water and kind of adjusted them a little and some sweat got into the right ear bud. I could feel the drop inside, but it went away quickly. It felt weird, but I haven't seen anyone comment about it in the reviews I saw, nor should I have even been adjusting them at all, they were fine. I noticed I had them on the loudest volume throughout the run, and didn't even know it. Fine for me, but I see a lot of people listening to music at ridiculous volumes, so I can see some people being not so happy. I really love the music quality while running

Thanks! I love that the ear pieces are similar to the wired Apple earphones. If you've owned/own those, how do they compare? I'm on the verge of ordering a refurb from eBay for ~$60 shipped...

Great work putting in some mileage for #NationalRunningDay, y'all! :nthat:

Here's my contribution to Run Day... After two runs in the Vomero4s, I definitely feel some gains switching to my lighter shoes. :smokin #ThankYouVomGod

Think I am going to pick up some Pegasus 31 this weekend. Outlet here has Hyper Punch(pretty much pink) for $54.99. Not a fan of the color but can't beat that price just for running, not going to wear them out.

Sole Review's take on the Flyknit Lunar 3s...

That was a great read, thanks!

It's funny that I read this today about the tighter heel collar on the FK2s, because my sock slipped into my shoe a bit on my run yesterday and that tight collar gave me a blister on my Achilles.  Right now, my FK3s are purely casual wear, but I might have to buy a second pair to run in.

If you love apple oem headphones, you'll love these! I love apple headphones more than all the other fancy ones that go inside your ear canal

I don't own a GPS watch (yet), but try hitting the dropdown menu > Settings > Partners > Garmin

I would say it's about the same, but with the apple ones being a little bit louder. I guess I would say the plantronics are a little bit better, but nothing noticeable.

Repped. I think I'll be scooping them up. :smokin

I've been using these since December...
Amazon product ASIN B00LAF23VI
I love how they fit, but the sound is mediocre and tends to skip... I'm looking forward to upgrading.

I used the Coach feature on Nike+ to train for my half, and it was great.  I moved up to the "Intermediate" level for this one, and they really step up the mileage (my race is on July 11, and I'm running 14 for the next 3 Saturdays).

Plus, I get a text notification about the next day's run, and I let it sit there to nag me and make sure I do it.

Ok got it. I will be active on IG now

I've never used that feature, but I'd like to give it a try. Then again, I don't have any races on schedule to train for though :/

What's everyone's short and long term goals in regards to running?

Or just get out there and improve everyday? Ran that 6 miler yesterday, tried to run again today after my leg workout, after 2 I ended up briskly walking back.

No shame.

Short term: Run at least a 6miler with an overall sub7 pace. I'm so inconsistent though...

Long term: Sub 1:32 Half Mary

What happened to the Pegasus 31s on Nike.com They were just on there the other day but now that the 32s are up they got pulled?

They will end up at outlets.

My goal is a sub-1:45 Half Marathon.  I have no desire to run a full one.  I'm impressed by people that can - not that they run 26.2 on race day, but that they run 20+ miles to "practice".  That's the part I couldn't get myself to do, to dedicate 4 hours to run that wasn't a race.
