RUN with US on INSTAGRAM #NTrunning (NikeTalkRunning)

Uh, so all week, I had a sore hip and head cold. Figured I'd battle my way through today's half marathon and give it a shot at full strength in 2 weeks.

Or, I crush my PR. Weird how that works.

Congrats, Kev!

Lol wow congrats! Blazing fast.
Thanks.  A little wind at my back for the last 1.5 or so, but ran into the wind for the first 7, so I think it evens out.  The course was a little odd, where the final GPS distance on my watch was close to 13.2, and I forgot to end it right when I crossed the line.  Coupled with the fact that I haven't seen official results yet, so I don't know my actual time.  The clock was about 1.40.17 when I crossed - I don't think it took 17 seconds for me to his the starting line, so I think I'm going to be mad when I see I was less than 10 seconds from breaking 1.40.  But, now I know sub-1.40 is in me, and I wouldn't have said that a month ago.

Got nice Nike+ badges for PRs in 1 mile, 1K, 5K, and 10K, so that was nice.  And I'm not as sore today as the last two I ran.  Wins all around!

For those doing the Nike women's marathon in SAN FRAN,

This will be my first run in that kind of weather. What should I be wearing. I honesty have no clue, should one fine in shorts, or do I do the leggings. Help me out.

I'm thinking the weather will be somewhere between the high 50s to mid 60s on race day. I'd go with shorts and compression socks...

My race yesterday started in the mid-40s, ended at about 53.  I ran in long sleeves and gloves, and shorts.  After 2 miles, I was perfectly comfortable.

Enlighten me on compression socks, any suggestions?

I just bought some OTC Nike Soccer ones from Ross for $2, and they're effective for me. You don't need to spend that much on them, imo.

Looks like the Vivoactive on Amazon is back up to retail now...

Since I found that I might need a mild stability trainer, I bought a pair of Nike Zoom Structure 18s. Can't wait to try these out. Heeling up enough to get a nice little run.

Just got home from picking up my Chicago marathon packet.

My left knee has been hurting since the first week of September..I peaked at 18 miles and haven't ran more than 3 since :smh:. I kept that consistent, at least. Doctor said I wouldn't cause more damage to myself, but it would be painful. I'm just going to go all in, I have also been feeling better with time, so hopefully I'm not dying tomorrow. I ran 2 today, and did strides at fast speeds, with zero pain. I also got taped up by the doctor, and feel better about that. At this point I'm fine with just finishing it, but it sucks knowing I could've met my goal of under 4hrs without this injury..

Good luck tomorrow with the Chicago Marathon.

Signed up for my first marathon last week. It will be the RnRSD Marathon next year. Done research and know all about Hell Highway between miles 20-22. Not the ideal first marathon elevation wise but I did not want to travel too far since I am already flying from the Bay to Orlando for runDisney Star Wars at WDW.

Will be running my 3rd consecutive Chicago Marathon tomorrow and just hoping for progressively faster time. Didn't get any significant injuries this year so we shall see
Also excited about my first NYC Marathon November 1, 2015!

You pronate or have flat feet? I'm wondering how those structures are. I ran a marathon in the structure 10s, but the 11 didn't gel with me well and haven't been back since. I've been on Lunarglide 1 and lots of 2s, and then the 3rd version didn't work for me, so I stocked up on 2s. Thinking about those structure 18s now that the price is nice, especially since I'm now bored with the lunarglides, so let us know how those work out.

Too many lunarglides...

And good luck to all running Chicago!

Thanks guys!

I honestly thought I was going to have knee pain that was unbearable after 3 miles. Ended up having zero issues, as long as my pace stayed consistent :pimp:. Nike app says I finished at 4:20. But I'm pretty sure I finished at 4:39, from the website. My heart rate was actually low the whole time, I never felt exhausted or winded, at any point. But for the last 800m, I went beastmode and full speed, felt awesome. I could literally only run at full speed or the pace I ran the whole time . Pain was bad if I tried to run at a faster pace :smh:.

I waiting for the wall to hit me, never happened :nerd:

I switched shoes to the Nike odyssey earlier this week too, less than 10 miles on them. I just had a good feeling about them being easier on my knee, loved them.

Had the worst cramps I've ever experienced. Had to stop and massage my legs with biofreeze 2X! Big thanks to the volunteers! Not sure how I finished 4:00:29
Good job :pimp:
The volunteers were just a gamechanger!!!! I don't know if it's like this for other marathons, but damn. So many spectators giving out ice cold waters, food, candy. I couldn't believe it! I was super hydrated and had food in me at all times while still going. I want to do it again when I'm healthy :nerd:

I told myself I'd never run more than a 5K.

I'm a week away from running my 4th half marathon.

I told myself I'd never run a full marathon.

You guys are making me waver...

Congrats, you two!

Your posts are making me consider signing up for my third full! Race day is just such a RUSH!

Man, I remember at around mile22 of my first, I thought I was going to hit "wall". However, as I approached the crowd, they cheered me on. I then repeatedly pounded my left chest to acknowledge them, and they got even louder! MAN! After that point, I felt RECHARGED and started to run like I was possessed! In the final stretch to finish line, I gave it my all in a dead sprint! It was such an AMAZING experience!

My newbie mistake that race was chugging water rather than compressing the cup and sipping on the run... [emoji]128517[/emoji]
