I think I just did - two people come up when I search richiemcfly, but I added the person with the Purple level since you mentioned that.

kcormier37 is mine (for you and anyone else that wants to add it)

Just got into cold weather running and biking.. is there a nice, clean consensus in this thread on what to buy to keep my *** warm?  It's been terribly cold out east recently

I run in Hyperwarm, and I'm fine with anything that's not exposed - and that's in the teens in the morning.  Once you're a mile or so into the run, your body heat takes over.

Anything fleece lined ive ran and biked in. Both tights and tops. Target c9 is a good value. Pearl izumi has nice ones as well. More pricey

Not back into running just yet but added a few of you to Nike plus.. Will help with the motivation when I'm back into the swing of things

Exactly.  I was feeling decent about my 79, haha.

nismot nismot is already at 119 :wow:

Sorry! Just be glad you didn't see the months I was competing for the runfree contest in 2013. People won a trip to Norway for running a ton and I had two months over 230 miles and STILL didn't win. Ray helped me realize my distance to Volt level was just over 2016km away, so now I'm working on that, and then I realized my 10 year Nike+ anniversary is on 9/1/16, so I would need to average over 5 miles everyday until then to hit Volt.

Just call it motivation!

I attempted my 2nd "ultra run" this past weekend, but I had to give up after 50km due to weather. The goal was 135km over 3 days and you had to carry food, snacks, clothes and sleeping bag; however water and a tent are provided. Running with a 8-10kg pack changes the game. I completed this last year, but I couldn't see myself run the remaining 85km in rain and windy weather.

Blisters were my biggest fear and I was surprised after 50km, not one blister! Usually after a 10k, I would start to feel it coming on my feet. This time I bought a pair of Balega Blister Resist socks and used bodyglide all over my feet. After about each 15k, I would stop and reapply it. I ran in a pair of Peg 32 and it felt better than the Brooks Glycerin12. But I noticed during the downhill mountainous terrain, I would have to retie the laces to keep the shoe from loosening. Other than that, Pegs 32 felt great.

It's hard to give up on a race, but I think if I was younger, I would have tried to push myself. Sucks getting old. Enjoy the weekend guys!

Hey, man, much respect for even attempting it!

I have the same problem with the laces on the Pegs, I have to double knot them.

Man I haven't logged my miles on Nike+ in WAY too long. I prob log 50-60mi/week, the majority being trail miles. I have them all logged on my Garmin acct since I use the Forerunner 110.

Garmin and NIKE+ can be partnered up. I'm not sure if the the FR110 is compatible though...

robotea robotea agree with kc037 kc037 amazing effort just in signing up! That's gotta be quite a commitment! How do you train for those kind of races? I'd be interested in possibly working up toward something like that. I think my favorite aspect of longer runs and races is the adventure of it.

It's more of a long hike! You go at your own pace and just meet at the check point each night. Otherwise they send out the search team since it's out in the rural areas! The 50km took me about 6.5 hours and the terrain was a mix of pavement, dirt, mountain and some beach sand. I started to train about 3 months before and it just consisted of a 10k run every week and a marathon a month beforehand. Also some mountain hikes to build some leg muscle.

The worst part is just carrying your backpack full of gear the entire time. I just wanted to toss everything and run. The real ultramarathons are much tougher than this though.

Wow wow and wow. A lot of great events and interesting topics have been brought up in the thread. First congrats to all that run in the Star Wars event and won/purchased some cool items as well. Secondly, I added some of you as friends on Nike plus so look for me Chaunci Dailey. Now that I'm recovered from my injury, I'm playing catch up. Last few weeks has been pretty cold out. I dread treadmills and refuse to even get on the one me and my wife have. So I've geared up for the cold weather. Mostly I've been pretty warm running in my Mossimo hooded flecce and my UA Storm jacket for those mid 50s and below days. I'd switch up to my lighter UA 1/4 zip up fleece or my C9 long sleeve and hoodie on anything above 55°.
